My windrestrictor self-destructed.

The plastic knob was rubbing into the silver plastic backing and finally due to air pressure came off and ripped off! Ugh. I should have got the smaller one. The sticky tape melted off.

You must have installed it improperly.

Probably dirt under the tape, tape was not secured together properly, Or the wr was installed too high. I had my wr over 120+ mph on several occasions in the 3 years I owned the car and never had an issue. I cannot say ive ever heard of anyone having a similar problem either. I even pulled an reinstalled my wr several times and did a pull the last day I owned it to 125.. No signs of it coming off.

Sorry to hear you lost it though. Did you go back and recover it?

If you cant install a WR, you should not install any car mods. Very simple and requires very few tools. WR has pretty good instructions and EXCELLENT customer support.

Here is an idea of how I would rate its difficulty....

Motor Swap 9/10

Installing an add on gauge 6/10

Oil Change 4/10

Difficulty of installing an illuminated WR is a 3/10

Installing a non-illuminated WR - 2/10

Installing a Christmas tree air freshener 1/10

They are not difficult.

The instructions are very easy to understand and execute. If you have any questions, there are many people at KP industries and on this forum who will offer up answers.

Learned something new yesterday at work polycarbanate is what a few companys use on theese wind gaurds, has about a 3 year life span when exposed to sunlight on a regular basis. After that it tends to loose its ability to be shatter proof. Regular plexi isn't as good as that stuff to begin with.
