2010 Saturn Sky

So and updated look and more power! RL gets a V6 ohhh and it looks like it also gets blinkers on the rear side mirrors

I like the wider looking side vents, mean looking lights and the fog light and blinker looks way cool. If you look at all the other future saturn models they all look way hot! Its going to be a hard choice for me when the new models come out.

I don't know if this is any official stuff but still I thought the designs were cool enough to post

The intro says one thing...
XE starts with a 2.0L 200HP Ecotec 4
XR has a 2.0L 245HP Ecotec Turbo 4
RL... 2.8L 300HP High Output Turbo (HOT) HF V6

While the Specifications Sheet says this...

XE: 2.0L 230HP Ecotec 4 w/DI - Starting at $23,250
XR: 2.0L 280HP Ecotech Turbo 4 - Starting at $27,450
RL: 2.8L 300HP HF HOT V6 - Starting at $30,150

which is right?

Neither is right...This is just someone's hopeful thinking for the future of the Sky. There is no right or wrong.

Those are not real. That is just a Saturn lineup dreamed up by the website. They really did an excellent job.

It is not a GM website, it is a fansite.

Totally correct! Don't get worked up over this. It is someone's fantasy - just not GM's at this point. Enjoy it for what it is.

Was told pretty firmly that there is little chance of seeing anything other than a 4 cylinder in any of the kappas from the factory.

Moving to rumor/scuttlebutt.

Ah forget half of that anyways, though I have no issues with their render. The one thing I do completely agree on is switching both trannies to 6 speeds, with paddleshifters for the auto. Tweak the 4 for more HP (maybe even a slightly bigger turbo) and work on the layout to improve storage space, a couple pockets, non crap cup holders, and adding general refinment. And seriously skip the hardtop, it's right for some cars but not a roadster IMO. Maybe, just maybe if they could manage a perfect manual hard top to keep the weight down below 50lbs extra. Even then I think I'd like them to just work on refining the soft top even further. Convertible hard tops are for more practicle daily driver verts like the C70 or G6, or even as a possible option on a Camaro. They really don't add as much to a roadster, sure it'd be nice some places but there's just something about the soft top IMO.

Obviously, it is all wrong...for it to be a hardtop convertible, the dimensions for the car must change...it has to become longer....members, keep paying off your car, nothing to worry...this style is good for 5 years, at least.

What u r looking at is a photochop of the corvette.

Yes they are all fantasy and not bad ones at that. If you go to their homesite, its a forum very much like this one. Not sure of the ties to GM if any though.

And next you'll tell me UFOs do not exist...

Photochop or not, this is IMHO a really pretty vehicle, and if GM could have the insight to one-up the foreign competition for longer in the looks department in order to give them time to catch up in the mechanical departments that apparently need tweaking, it would be cool.
Keep it a rag-top, just find some way to make a factory trunk like the mods we see on this site. Myself, I hope GM takes note...it's cool looking.

Agreed, nice "fantasy illustrations". But GM most likley has hard-drives and flat files chock full of similar concept renderings.

I am an enthusiast and love to see what others come up with. I have my "road car" (Sky Redline) and my "off-road car" ('93 Ford Bronco). I am an active memeber of this forum and several Bronco forums. I can tell you there are as many Bronco concept renderings and Ford hasn't built one (other than a short-lived concept a couple years ago) since '96 but folks love 'em and continue to churn out concepts from their own imaginations. (Ever seen what a modern Bronco might look like on the F-series Superduty platform?!)

The Sky concept shown there is (in my opinion) a very appropriate forward motion "morph" of the current styling and power train package. Whether or not the manufacturer chooses to move in that direction will be determined by far more than the extremely zealous consumers' and enthusiasts' "photoshop" dabblings.

Seeing a V6 in a Kappa from the factory seems kinda pointless with the amount of power they can make with the LNF platform. All it'll take is a slightly larger turbo and your hitting 300+ HP and getting superior fuel economy at the same time while also weighing less.

It remains to be seen whether or not GM is willing to push the Ecotec to 300+ hp with a 100k powertain warranty though.

They already have versions of the Ecotec pumping out over 300hp - Jay Leno put one in some little bare bones roadster, so they already exist.

With one of the first 1000 I will keep mine. Am debating putting a turbo or supercharger in it, since RL was not an option when I ordered.

But I really like the way the new one looks.
