I am looking at the Buyer's Guide right now, and do not see anything about Solstice being absorbed by GMC.
Solstice: Highlights: OnStar, satellite radio, premium acoustic headliner, driver information center and MP3-compatible stereo standard Base Price: $22,295 What's Next: Fastback next year Our Opinion: This affordable roadster has standout looks and turbo enjoyment in GXP form. Sky: Highlights: Leather-wrapped steering wheel, driver's seat power height adjuster, StabiliTrak, and limited-slip differential standard on all versions. New torque beam on all manual transmissions to reduce noise and vibrations. Base Price: $25,595 What's Next: Reengineering in '11 Our Opinion: The more attractive of the Kappa roadsters falls behind the MX-5 in driving enjoyment. The Torrent is said to be moving to GMC. The G6 is said to be moving to the Alpha platform in '12.

Kind of funny how the highlights are not the same for both cars. MMM..So much for corporate cousins being built the same.

Well, this makes sense from the standpoint the tooling lifecycle should be coming to an end around that time. New tooling. New designs. New form. It is normal in the sports car industry to give 'em a new face every five years or so. Nothing drastic. Just an evolution in style. Some change for cosmetic purposes. Some for needed engineering changes. And some changes from the necessity of accommodating existing tooling (e.g., if moving manufacturing to a new plant), to the extent it's used.
