Agreed. Judging by the pics and the way they have compartmentalized the trunk, I'm thinking the clubs are a no go in the coupe.

But they fit in the convertible and I'm just fine with that!!!

Here's the trunk pic I was looking for. The clubs might fit right behind the seats, but I'm thinking the bag won't squish in near the tail lights like it does now. Still would be tricky for us short people.

Hey... If they introduce the comparable for the SKY, do we have to change the name of the form from skyROADSTER.com? What about the GM Roadster club?

Do we turn our noses up at the coupe people, or do we welcome them like the loving and tolerant people that we are?

Oh, the ramifications...

I sure hope this means a Sky coupe will follow. That would change my mind from buying a used 07 to buying a new coupe. I know there are a lot of haters that couldn't imagine the Sky as a coupe, but I hate that it is only offered in a convertible. Although if they don't, it will only be a matter of time before a hard top is developed for the sky that will increase aerodynamics in the name of road racing. (at least I hope so) I don't want it for show, I want it for go.

To the best of my knowledge there are no plans for a Sky coupe ..... hmmmm, time to check some sources

Someone photoshopped a Sky targa, too bad they aren't going to make a Sky coupe.

I think it looks pretty good. If there was a sky targa coupe available when I bought mine I would have considered it.
Nothing could kill the gas mileage more than the top it has on it now.

I would be more impressed if it had another 40hp.

If they did a Sky targa, I'd like to see them keep the general lines of the convertable. It's hard to find a good picture, but maybe take some inspiration from the blue opel here...

Anyway, I don't see why some people are getting their panties in a bunch telling GM "Bad idea!". If you don't like it, don't buy it, it's that simple. Personally, I think the coupe looks sharper than the roadster, but that's just me.

It would be nice if the hardtop boosted the gas mileage up closer to the cobalt's - even the turbo HHR gets better mileage. I wouldn't be surprised if mileage was one of the driving factors for the hardtop.

Personally, I think what ever will increase the appeal and production numbers of the platform is good and this is one way to do so. This may insure a longer run of Kappa cars.

I prefer the Sky in convertible form because of the sharper, crisper lines but I like the Solstice Coupe version better than the Sky. The round shape of the cabin compliments the lines of the Sol better then the edges of the Sky.

That if you don't like it, don't buy it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and none of us seem to be shy about expressing them on here either.

JohnD, the rename is a good even though GM's main club is GM Roadster club but I'm all for acceptance of those different than the originals here . I've certainly had to deal with acceptance issues all my life.

why????

you can be sure a sky coupe is coming also. i can think of 5 coupes that i would get over the kappa coupe. my sky styling with the humps and curves and the top down is what rules.

i did see a couple new things from gm at this weeks nyc auto show that looks cool. the buick 4 seat kappa looks like a winner, but it will be over 50 grand!

OH? That is a one rumor that many of 'us' have not heard ... pray tell - where did you come upon this information?

I feel the same way - I don't think the Sky lines would look as good with the coupe roof. Maybe that's why they're making a Sky coupe?

Hopefully they wouldn't just slap the same roof on. Although it does seem as though the roof could be put onto just a regular Solstice roadster if you want to invest in buying the parts instead of buying a new Solstice. So maybe I could just an 07 Sky and put the coupe top on it. I guess only time will tell.

I think GM has been extremely smart lately. Pretty much all the cars they have right now (or cars close to release) interest me in one way or another. Just a few years ago and a long time prior to that, there was no new vehicles that I would have wanted. Glad they finally did something about their bland selection of autos.

I didn't like the Dotsun or BWM "version" so the SKY version targa is out for me too. I bought the SKY because it was a unique looking roadster...not a copycat. But each to their own, right!

Actually, Carol Shelby used that fastback coupe design in 1964 with his Daytona coupe.

And if you use a little imagination, Jaguar did it in 1961 with their E-Type coupe.
