I like the current front end better, but the side styling is awesome!

This seems to pop up every few months. I think the first time was here:

The Dream Saturn Lineup

While the drawing is pretty hot, remember that it has little basis in reality.

Enjoy the new avatar.

Yeah, we've seen this a few times. Just to clear things up, GMI is an enthusiasts site. Just like just us, but bigger. Well, ok, maybe not just like us. They had a thing there where they created kinda their dreamteam lineup of what they'd like to see with various cars. Uh, we play fantasy football here, lol. That was their dream Sky. Nothing to do with GM or any plans, just a wishlist by car enthusiasts.

Passenger side fender looks finished to me. It could be your monitor needs some adjustment.

All I care is that they get rid of the damn face side and top hood vents. The cosmetic ones add a complete cheese factor to what is a nice sports car. Sometimes I have no idea what GM is thinking.

It looks nice. I still want to see a coupe version that gets rid of the reverse hinge trunk and has a hatch options similar to the vette.

From Wikipedia Corvette entry (emphasis added by me):

Quote:
1963 would see the introduction of the new Corvette Stingray coupé with its distinctive split rear window and fake hood vents as well as an independent rear suspension. The split rear window was discontinued in 1964 due to safety concerns. Because they made the design too busy, the hood vents were also cut.
What is GM thinking? The same thing they were thinking 40 years ago.

Car designs go through stages....one stage is adding a bunch of chrome and accents which eventually gives way to "less is more", and then back again to the accents. I've noted recently a lot of chrome appearing on the front grills of cars and trucks these days...give it a few years....we'll get tired of that...and it'll be back to simple.

I don't care for it much, I like the current front better and the side looks too much like a Viper...

Take a look at the new RX8.
Definitely some subtle common design pedigree.

Even more interesting considering Franz von Holzhausen, the design/artist for the Solstice and SKY, is now working for Mazda.
