Fred, I was told this is normal. But still have my doubts! Before I upgraded to the bigger turbo I also found a light film of oil on the passenger side IC-Tube to the inter-cooler. And also found it in the intake side. I think as the older the turbo gets there is some oil that leaks from the bearings on the unit. If it get into the inter-cooler this would prevent it from performing as designed.
1) check driver side to see if oil has made its way that far.
2) If so I would clean the system.
3) This is extreme call me.
4) In doubt take it in for servicing.
Gary, I have a question about the turbo on my car. I'm replacing the inter cooler pipes and when I took off the intake and the discharge pipe from the turbo there was a lit of oil inside the discharge side. I don't think this normal. Is the a problem there I should have looked at?
