DenverSky Based upon this, I wrote my letter, and also linked to the Save the Kappa website upon my blog. Hopefully, we'll get some good traction here. I can't imagine Pontiac not wanting to save the star of their line-up within some form. This car made top-down driving affordable for me.

That's a great idea Iccy, we are all over that website. I added it to my status. Anyone know how to add it as a cause?

Along the top left you'll find the Who to Write section, it has a list of GM individuals and mailing addresses for them. We highly suggest mailing at least the top 3, but if you are up for it mail them all!

Bogie is right.

Let's all start by writing Top Gear, so we can convince them to get an Opel GT on the show. Be sure to point out how quite a few A/Xers have been dropping their Elises for Solstice ZOKs.

After that, we'll declare war on all the car mags that are dissing us in favor of the Miata and S2k. First we prove that increased performance is greater than increased storage. Then we'll point out that all these car experts should be more interested in driving the cars than leaving them sitting in a golf course's parking lot. All the while of course, we'll be hammering them for being dumb enough to support an inferior foreign car over a domestic car that slaughters it from a performance standpoint.

Then, the next step would be to tout the Kappa's fuel economy. Start lining it up with other cars with similar power, like the Mustang GT, Mazda RX-8, etc. Start showing that it's really the greatest thing for commuting back and forth to work, and has pushed the Miata out of that role and into the garbage bin.

If we get these cars into the limelight, they will sell. I can look at how many Kappas are in my area and prove that. Seems like once people here about the Kappas and research them, they can't help but get one. So, we need to fight off all the bad publicity and get this car noticed.

Take this review from Edmunds for instance:
2009 Saturn Sky Review - Edmunds.com

It's full of inaccuracies, (fuel mileage) they harp on reliability issues, (since when? compared to what?) and completely made-up issues. (vague steering? WTF is that?)

Or this one:
Follow-Up Test: 2007 Saturn Sky Red Line
That has the gall to go with the MX-5 over a Redline. Slow revving engine? Slow or not that MX-5 will never catch it. The MX-5 slaloms better? No ****, it's a lighter, smaller car. Apparently this guy knows nothing about driving, that or all the A/X guys switching to this platform are smoking something.

Till we start fighting to get the truth about our cars out there, we're sunk.

Hey have you checked the poll? The flock seem to be heading a different direction. Don't feel, bad this will just make our cars rare and thus worth more in the future.

I converted all the files to PNG instead of jpg so they're smaller and better looking now. However with the larger image size ones it's going to be impossible to make them that small size wise and maintain their looks. I'll see if I can make a more cut down version that will be smaller size wise.

If I was the Senate I would tell them to ditch the Vette and keep the Kappa, (better fuel mileage), but at least the Vette has a boot more than I can say for the Kappa.

If Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus are axing their convert then you bet GM will follow suit on that model. In times of bad economy people don't buy luxury items and the kappa is a luxury item. No use other than a commuter car and just about any car around it's size and gas mileage has more room, better fuel economy.

Just my 2 cents...
I gotta agree with B' here. The points you make are factors in why we think it is important to get out there, take a minute to write a letter, and drop it in the mail to let GM know you like these cars and want to see them continue.

We cannot make the decision for GM, but we do have the power of our collective voice to try and influence their decision. The kappas were first produced in large part because lots of people told GM they loved it. They do listen to their customers and enthusiasts.

All we ask is to write a personal letter, buy a couple stamps, and mail them off! It won't take long, and I bet most of us here can still afford a few stamps!
