Based on comments I have seen here I ordered a windscreen from Allantewindscreen. It showed up today and I was very disapointed. For your information look at the two photos below. One shown from the advertisement one from the one I got today. Notice the cheap plastic silver colored edging. Notice how it doesn't go evenly to the edges. Notice the curve - its not the same on each side. This looks like it was cut in a garage, by hand and not done well. Ok, I actually tried fitting it on the Sky - guess what - it doesn't fit. I love my Sky and don't want to ruin its looks with this kind of crap. :brentil:
I am sending it back and will let you know how the 30 day satisfaction warrantee is handled.

Isn't the ends covered by the "humps"? Have you put it on yet and tried? I bought one from them also (haven't got the sky yet to try it.). I chose this manufacturer because they use Optics material instead of Lexan which scratches very easily. He included the "chrome" strip, but I did not want it as the edges are flame polished and very shiny. I don't believe Kappashere's has a shinny edge due to the material although having not seen one, I can't say I know for sure. Take the chrone edge off and try it again. Let me know if it looks symetrical after being installed. If it doesn't, our friend is going to have to create a new jig and make me a new one.
After taking the photo, I did try to install it. The curve doesn't really fit the curve of the humps in the Sky very well. However, I couldn't install it according to the instructions because the screws on the Sky are too short to grip the body of the car while holding the windscreen. If the curve fit the car, and if I was happy with the plastic edging - that you can see is not uniform on each side and is commig off... I could go find longer screws that could hold it in place.
On a positive side - I already heard from him that when I return it he will refund. I really wanted this to work and am sorry it won't.
Wow, sorry to hear that. I did look at your pics and your right its cut uneven. Good luck  But I have a question, it says black for your color on you signature, but looks like you put it on a midnight blue?
Yes - I just wanted to show how the promotional photo looked in comparison with what was delivered. I found out since that the screens designed for Solstice are not an exact fit for the Sky - aparently the humps are different.
As far as I am concerned those shields are not needed, Under 50 MPH there is not enough wind to bother me, and even at 75 if you roll up the side windows the wind isn;t bad... but that is my opinion...

Sure Nuff! It don't fit! I received mine today also..I already had reservations based on the fact that kappashield was redesigning theirs for the Sky (as we speak). Mine was already on order so upon openning it I decided to try anyway.
1. Fake chrome plastic edging on top looked cheap. I didn't order that and removed same.
2. I first tried installing with the chrome thingy on and the trunk would not close (even with a good hard slam).
3. I raised it high enough to close but it looked like crap!
4. Then I removed it. It took some doing to get the adhesive off the plastic.
5. The edge finish wasn't as good as advertized.
6. Still is installed, but looks like crap..
7. I would rather exchange for one that fits, so will contact mfgr.
8. Here are the pictures.
Wow! Doesn't fit at all! I will contact Jay and find out what he will do. I emailed him several weeks ago and told him the humps are not the same as the Solstice. He said it still fits just fine and that I would like it. Looks like he has not tried it on a Sky at all! He is a sponsor of this forum (or was). I hope he takes full responsibility for his product. I bought 2, one for me and one for a friend. I will keep all informed on what his response is.
Oh yes, you can make it look OK, but it isn't even with the humps then. If you have the same one that I do (not Kappashield) and it fits as advertized you must have the latest redesigned (if possible) windscreen from this source. The plastic chrome edging shows that there is no accounting for bad taste. It was supposed to be smooth and well finished...Humbug!
The chrome looks just as good as the chrome on the inside door. I have not removed the chrome to see if it was properly finished per the add. I will do so and let you know. I like the idea that it does not have to be removed when putting the top up.

Have you installed the screen to reach the top pf the humps? It looks like it has been suggested the it will not show the ends above the body if it is seated all the way down on the screws. Can you move the shield down more? If so, can you take pictures? Kappashields current model will not reach the top of the humps either.
I was contemplating gettting a windscreen.. but.... after reading all of this.. and some of the installation instructions.. on some of them.... THERE IS NO WAY.. I AM GOING TO SCAR UP MY BABY BY DRILLING HOLES OR HAVING HER LOOK...... NOT ALL PUT TOGETHER.... or have big gaps around edges.... UGH..... i will just let my hair blow in the wind.. and i do agree..... around town there is not much wind and i love the wind anyway.... HENCE.... I BOUGHT A CONVERTIBLE...... TO LET IT BLOW IN THE WIND..... and.. on the interstate... if it is a problem.... with longer hair... put it in a ponie while driving.... it is NOT going to mess up the DOO...... for the short time on interstate..... now.... if you are going on a ROADTRIP..... then..... it may be more comfy to have longer hair up with a clip or ponie.... and last night when we were out... LATE.... it was getting a bit chilly and i REFUSED to let my husband leave the lid UP.... I WANTED IT DOWN....... DUH..... and we put the windows up.. which by the way... i HATE seeing people do.... and the blowing of hair was very minimal...... MY OPINION IS.... LET IT BLOW IN THE WIND...... SkyBaby-07

I totally agree with Skyman. You set low in the Sky and the dinky piece of plastic that you have to put on and off everytime you put the top down is a waste in my opinion in that it isn't going to change much air flowing one way or the other. My test for roadsters is to hit the interstate at about 75 MPH and see if my cap wants to blow off. I guarantee you that if your cap is going to blow off it will with or without that so called excuse for a wind deflector. It just isn't tall enough or wide enough to make a difference. My advise, invest your money in a CAI or something like that.

Good observations. I am 6-1+, unless I slouch A LOT my ears stick above the windows and get a fair amount of wind, but only at 50+ or so. The issue is the length of my torso protruding above the heighth of the top of the windows. Would a screen in the back change that? A screen would change the air flow dynamics but don't know that it would stop the wind from hitting my ears since they are above the window.
Not a big deal except for over 50.
I agree, I've ordered the CAI as my first 'mod', am not too quick to change the car!
Its not about getting a windscreen or not... Its not about who desires one or not... Its about - if you want one it ought to look good, work well on the car and be as advertised. I am returning the one I got and hope to find one that looks good and fits well. I also have the CAI - If I had to choose the CAI or windscreen I would go with the CAI It really is an awsome improvement in sound and noticable in zip... But I don't have to choose either or - so I want a windscreen that works well, and looks good, and will not mess up my Sky.
No fake plastic crome for me, thank you!

1. Not a dinky piece of plastic
2. Not changing air flow, creating air bubble
3. If your head is too high for the bubble your hat will blow off
4. Without trying it, your judgement is a little premature
5. I invest MY money in many things and 5 extra horsepower from CAI isn't much improvement (gives a deep throated growl...big deal!) One grade of gasoline better would give you that.
6. I like it!

I got it from the same place you did. He was not aware of the size differences between Sky and Solstice as he had not yet had access to a Sky. http://www.allantewindscreen.com/Saturn__Sky.html
I didn't realize that the first picture has the one with the chrome strip (I thought that was just a reflection from the edge). I have been working with him on a template to complete the design for the windscreen on the Sky today. It should be ready real soon as Kappasphere is redesigning theirs also at this time. Either one would be a good bet now. I removed the chrome strip from the one that shows in the picture. Being the wrong size a little bit of the windscreen shows on each side of the humps..not bad but not right..All to be remedied soon.

Yep, I talked to Jay today also and he has sent out a notice to all that bought a windscreen for the Sky from him saying that he would replace all of them with the new design. Hey, mistakes happen. I don't think I've ever read here in the forum that the humps on a solstice and a sky were different. I don't think anyone picked up on that at all. In fact, most have said the rear deck is the only thing that was the same!
It is great that you can help him out with the pattern. Just remember, if it doesn't fit the second time, we can all blame you!
I believe the Allante windscreen is not removeable, is that correct?
Doesn't it touch the glass window with the top up?
That's the reason Kappa's is made to be removeable. They are both flat and attach to the same screw holes. I don't see why they would be any different.
Am I missing something?
I would not want the screen rubbing on the rear window. It could damage the rear window.
I'm also curious how the chrome edge will fit in the gap between the trunk and the rear deck. With the additional thickness of the chrome edge, I suspect the edge must be mounted above the humps, so the ends of the edge would be visible. Is this true?

All the questions you just asked don't really mean anything right now. Allante windscreen just sent out a notice today that he wants all the SKY windscreens back so he can send them a new one WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE.
"I will have a correct pattern available within the next 2-3 weeks, and replace the windscreen."
He is even going to cover the cost of returning the current one back to him.
As far as the removal for the top is concerned, they could very well be different. While they attach at the same point, that doesn't mean that the shape is the same. Allante could have designed his so it did NOT hit the top or the window. But again, that is comparing the Solstice models. Jury is still out as the SKY one is not yet been completed.
Also, the Allante is made of a thinner and different material. The Allante version was supposedly more resistant to scratches. Again, comparing the Solstice models.
Chrome strip. It is really just plastic edging that goes on the edge of the screen. When he shipped me mine, I asked that he leave it off. I was going to decide whether or not to put it on. If you did have it on already, it was removable. As far as I can determine right now, it would have only gone BETWEEN the humps and stopped as it gets close to the body, but that is just a guess. (I don't have my car yet.)
