Found a Nice One!!!

Just purchased a 2008 Sky. One owner garage kept. Looks like it just came from the factory. Absolutely love driving this car. Top down could use a wind deflector. I have heard there is one made with a suction cup mount. Anyone have any information on this. Scoured the internet with no luck.
Thank you

Welcome, and lord have mercy on you if your screen name means you have anything to do with Trains as @skersfan has picked up model trains as a hobby recently and, like his Skys, has gone balls out with it. LOL I'm sure he'd love to talk to you about them.

As for the wind deflector, I don't know of any that use a suction cup mount, but I know @Wind Restrictor has a removable version of their Wind Restrictor that might work for you. Of course they do make one you can leave top up or down too.

Now I'm wondering if anyone's ever done Saturn slot cars.

Dormant model railroad afficionado here.. alas, my computer stuff has eaten the garage so I haven't had time to build a layout. Maybe this summer after a few garage sales.

OMG, I was watching American Pickers last night and they went to a guy's house who had a HUGE slot car collection (EASILY in the 1000s) with cars dating back to the early 1900s!!!! He even had a German made Volkswagen Bug slot car from 1937! He said it was the only one he has ever seen and it may have been a prototype that never went into production because of the war. Wanted more for it than an actual 1960s era Bug! I don't remember where he was located but I bet you can find the American Picker's episode online somewhere. I bet if they made one, he'd have it or know about it.

Heh, I came back from a long break from Pickers earlier this week... saw one where they drove a restored Auburn back to the owner's widow, and one with a country store being converted to a museum. But I'll have to go look for that episode.

At one time, about 6 months ago I was interested in the suction cup mount wind deflector. It's called Backblade and I have tried recently to get info on it but everywhere I had looked and found it, it was gone. It may still be out there but I could not find it. It was quite spendy. Over $200 as I remember. I figure they went out of business but I could be wrong.

Wind deflector

Check out post 25 of 30 at the link below. I made two of these already and they look great forever no scratching or warping.

Welcome to the forum trains736. Congrats on your recent purchase of the Permagrin machine. Enjoy the ride and some here might say a life changing event.

First off... photos when you can of your Kappa. The owners around here are kind of picky about this subject. You will learn many things from the vast group of owners here, and our brothers over on the Sol side too. Lot of knowledge among many here, that have helped us all with " stuff " that happens with our models.

Speaking of models... trains. Yup along with skersfan few of us have the model train bug. Still have some old post WW2 Lionel & American Flyer trains in my attic and my dad from the days when I was a kid. Pretty good local train museum here in town too. I have visited a few times. Cool stuff.

Wind Deflector. Yes some if not most owners have one. Pretty easy to install, as some here have mentioned. Velco, or four screws, two sided tape easy peasy. Mine came with one, a dark smoked plexy model, I have used. I rarely use it now. No need, you will get use to the wind in your hair... trust me.

Has anyone tried to remove the velcro? Does it leave scars , marks or residue on the plastic?

If the paint under it is poor, it can lift that paint. However, if it is factory paint/plastic finish, you'll be fine.

It may leave some residue on the surface but if you get some GooGone you can remove that fairly easily.
