Would it be sponsorship by the Italian sportswear manufacturer "Kappa"?

That is what I'm told but I found it very funny to see that word on that car. It's a Kafiata!

Did you know that Lancia had a model called the Kappa from 1994 to 2000?

They had previously built another Kappa in 1919-22, a Dikappa in 1921-22, and a Trikappa from 1922-25.

I wasn't familiar with them either until I was trying to find out why a Fiat would have Kappa written on it.

It's a Kafiata! That's what I said. Rally Car and cool history on the pervious version of the Kappa, who knew. Now IF Fiat took this 124, and merged it with the Alfa 4C you might have something there an ALKAFIATA a top dog choice. A 2016 version of the Kappa?

I still don't like the motor offered in this, compared to ours. Time will tell IF an upgrade is available in this dept. will happen? A GT version of this? 2.7 IC with DC paddle shifters? 350 horsepower, right off the showroom floor? Sure new car, warranty glore, no miles the odometer. I was just looking around some new 2018 models for me maybe. I have another box on my list to check off for a future vehicle. It would not bother me at all, if I took a test drive in this model, just for comparison sake. The a$$ in the seat reaction.

Given that our cars are getting old, ( just like me ) parts and service down the road will become an issue. That new car "smell" can be had for just a few pennies. Yeah right with the new Mazda Miata, which is pretty much bullet proof, to the new kid on the block, the Fiat 124, that has no history of consumer feedback, warranty recalls not with standing, think I would wait some before I buy, but hell a test drive, I got 20 minutes for that any day. Wanted to try that Alfa 4C just once, but then $$$$ for a 4C, and the dealer said no way without one of our guys going with you on your test drive. So much for the cruise on Rt. 77 east, my test road. Ah well still have the Kappa to beat and bang about in.

I don't think they'll build a Miata based car with a substantial increase in HP over what you see today. The whole idea is a classic roadster design. Light weight with lower power output. That was the unique thing about our cars. The NA versions fit into that same classic roadster mold and then you had the Turbo cars which offered that increased power output.

But yea, I'd want to take a ride in one of these before passing judgment. I've also heard the 1.4 T in these things has some decent aftermarket potential.

Think your right there Robo, and it keeps the costs down. Cheap affordable fun. That being said, in the back room somewhere, two tech in the skunkworks dept. just shoehorned an LS3 into the model. An ACR race comp. package, an optional box for the potential buyer, a COPA order? Again big bucks on the final invoice, changes the affordable roadster price tag.

Build it... and they will come! This is just me, after I was looking at an upgrade to the Kappa. What was I looking at? Viper older model, $39k. No Sir the Viper motor will not fit into your Kappa engine bay. Yeah I knew that, thanks. Just a thought, ok so that affordability just went out the window. So with the Kappa as a down payment, and 25K I get the keys? Yep until your insurance bill comes due. Oh My! Forget that, I'll stay at the $34.00 per month that I have now. It's affordable. That's what you get with the Kappa... bang for your buck.
