I know this is an old thread but how would one find out if there are any of the blue with a manual shift left out there?

They were produced about the same timeframe. Our Hydro Blue came off the assembly line in the same month as our Coupe, April '09.

Hi STVZ CARZ,
Based on some research I did last year using the VIN decoder, I found there are 12 Redline Hydro Blues SE's with manual transmissions.

Thanks Longmont-sky, That would put it right inline with the Coupe, as to about 24% of those Redlines had Manual.
A shame that more of the run didn't have manual. Sports cars should be manual. But, for those running in the cities, Automatic is an easier ride.
I don't mind our Sky having Auto, as the wife drives it more than I do and she enjoys not having to shift. Just Push the Go Pedal & the PermaGrin grows.
For me though, the Coupe had to have Manual!
Great info, Thanks again.

I recently found one in Stuart, Florida. It was built 5/09. I am fixing it up with blue thread items off Ebay and soap, water and wax. I love Blue...Blue truck, Blue street rod, Blue SKY.

"according to the VIN"? what does that mean?

According to my listing from the CompNine build sheets, there were 89 cars that got the "smoke accent stripe", 90 cars that got the Blue Metallic paint, and 589 cars that got the Q9Y Sport Aluminum wheels (500 of those would have been for the Ruby Red SE).

So it does appear that there was one Sky build with the Hydro Blue paint that was NOT a special edition (probably a test car to make sure the paint worked out ok).

Note that from the build dates that owner's have reported here, they were NOT built sequentially (and therefore do not have sequential VIN numbers). Is that what you were referring to?

There are 89, I have the list of the vin's Search on here you can find the unique identifiers in the VIN and the breakdown of manual auto's and redline base models.

I think the info is still here. But I deleted 100's of useful post of mine a few years back, when I left this forum in protest to the allowed behavior of some. That though is history, as are all those old posts.

You should find that there were 40 Base Hydros (RPO code 1FY) and 49 Redline Hydros (RPO code 1FZ).

Glad I had other things to do this morning than to go on a fruitless search of the data bases.

Glad you found your mistake(s).

You can't mess with these guys on the Skyroadster forum when it comes to the Hydro Blue SEs. They have every one of those 89 cars documented six ways from Sunday!

It would appear that you have 1 of the 40 Limited Edition Hydro Blue (non-turbo) Skys.
There were also 49 Limited Edition Hydro Blue Turbo Skys.

500 Turbo Blue cars were planned, but the factory (and Saturn) shut down before they could be completed. Only 89 cars in the series were completed.

Additionally, there were 500 Limited Edition Ruby Red Skys (133 of which were non-turbo, 367 of which were Turbo).
On top of that, there were another 494 cars that had the Ruby Red paint, but were not Limited Edition (the limited edition ones had special wheels, a black stripe, and red interior stitching).

There was also 1 other Sky that had the Hydro Blue paint but was not the limited edition. It may have been a test car to test out the paint color. I'd love to know what happened to that single unique car. I don't know if it was a turbo or not.

The stripes could be removed and the wheels could be changed. The stripes you can replace...finding the wheels will be difficult but a good reason to have the seller knock some money off the price. The red stitching is there though.
