Shoulda woulda coulda

This was Saturns future....or wasn't it....to be re engineered in 2011.

A lot of people gave Saturn grief. I for one owned four, now five with the second Sky, and they've all treated me very well. I think they could have remade their reputation sooner or later. Oh well. It's all history now.

I wonder if any of the design concept sketches survived - or were even made?

I also own two Saturns, and I have no complaints with either one of them

Rip gm

Had 6 SATURNs over the years. All but one built at their newly designed (in1990) manufacturing facility in Spring Hill. Could see the writing on the wall in 2007 when GM stopped building SATURNs there decided to build the Chevy Traverse at that previously SATURN-only plant in Tennessee.

I recall prevailing conjecture being that production would move to Bowling Green where a new 2012 model, released about now, would be built alongside the Corvette and the XLR.

On one hand I enjoy owning an unusual car, and on the other hand, it would have been fun to see what they came up with next.

I remember that article...

Just before Saturn went away I received and saved sealed on its package a color chart for 2010 Saturn models... Maybe one day this will be worth something...

I bought a Saturn SL-2 with a 5-speed in 94. Great car, got 36/37 MPG highway.

Bought my second SL-2 with an auto in 98. Not as good gas mileage with the auto, only 32/34. Still got it as my daily driver. Only has 64K on it.

My 07 Sky only gets 14 city and 22 highway, but I love it anyhow.
Outside of tire, battery and wiper replacement, haven't had any problems with any of them.

Leave it to GM to screw everything up by dumping the line. Guess they couldn't make enough money on an inexpensive and reliable car that gets great gas mileage. Bunch of greedy jerks.

this would have been the SKY's competitor in 2011-12...any disagreements? I wonder why Dodge did not go through with it...unless FIAT said NO. I know I would have been in their showroom. At the autoshow in NY, they had it roped off...could not get close enough to examine the interior...just like the SKY in 2005...do u remember what the price of the car was going to start at...I do...around 16-17K.

The only good thing that came out of Saturn closing down and NOT making anymore SKY's is: I don't have to trade-up my yellow baby for a newer model....

End of Story!

Looks like a Honda S2000 with a bad body kit on it!

According to GM, Saturn never turned a profit so the general public was never sold on the car. The models that came out prior to the bankruptcy caught my attention more than any of the previous cars that I personally thought were the ugliest low performance things on the road. It would have been interesting to see if I was as normal as the rest of the US if Saturn had continued on and had record sales.

Got it:

2008 Sky Redline
Black Onyx Red/Black Leather
Single Disc Monsoon
Spoiler
Chrome Wheels
3 Pedals
Picked up 9/04/07
