Just want to say.......... There hasn't been 1 day that someone hasn't talked to me about my Sky. I've own it since June 2006. I've been followed so many times I've lost count. I never have to wait to pull out anymore. I get special treatment know matter where I go. People pay for my meals, coffee, ect at the drive up windows. I've had children aged 3 and up tell me I have a hot car. I've had a gentlemen age 85 love my Sky. Women young and old follow me out of store just to ask me something about my car. Everyone wants to know what is it. I have never had so much attention. Had a spot check for drinking and I sat and talked to the officer for about ten minutes about the Sky, holding up traffic. Can you believe it! People beep, wave, wink, flirt, try to date me, (even though I tell tell I married.), ect......
I have let people drive my Sky and they too, can not believe the attention the Sky draws. There are so many stories. Is it ever going to stop?

Best Car For 45-year-old, Single Women: Saturn Sky Convertible

Base price: $24,195

The Sky is a sexy yet affordable convertible that has become one of the hottest new American cars. So far this year, 55% of its American registrants have been women. Trust us, the Sky gets plenty of stares on the street--even when men drive it. You could spend tens of thousands of dollars more for a Mercedes or BMW, but the Sky will get you the same thing: attention.

Not trying to start a war here.
I found this to be an interesting statistic.

First of all early marketing reports indicated that the Solstice was designed to attract women and the Sky was aimed at the men. This info was relayed to me by my dealer after he attended a GM sales conference.
Secondly, if 55% are registered to women, how many women are driving a Sky that is registered in their husbands name?
So it's true. Women are from Venus and drive Solstice's, men are from mars and drive Sky's!

Interesting stat

I remember reading in a local paper that a lot of married women are now signing for the family car to establish and improve their independent credit rating. My own wife is the primary owner of our Tracker, of instance. It was originally bought for me to drive thoughů
I think to be fair and accurate the survey has to be "Who DRIVES the SKY."

1- Being followed by a female stranger ?
A Woman in a Solstice followed me to a gas station and asked, "Why is your Sol different than mine?" I said, "Mine is Cinderella and your is Drusilla.". She was OK with that and left.
2. Getting a (eye wink) from the lady in the car next to u while driving/ or stopped ?
A 30ish lady put her hand over the left side of her face so her Boyfriend/Husband could not see. When my wife and I both returned the wink she seemed Happy and dropped her hand and started talking to us. Boyfriend/Husband ran a light to get away.
3 - Finding a woman's panties (or bra) on ur SKY..with a phone number ?
No Panties, but I have found a phone number for Danni. I was so busy checking to see if someone hit the car that I didn't think about it any other way until I read this Post, my 'Gray moment'. I just called and it is a woman and she wants to test drive mine to know if she should buy one.
4- Getting preferential treatment from the bell-hops..at ur favorite upscale restaurant?
Those who know about the Varsity in Atlanta may or may not consider it an upscale restaurant. But a True Blue Atlanta Native does. Until I was in Atlanta over the weekend and made my usual trip to the Varsity it had always cost me to eat there. This time in the Sultry all I had to do was let the Carhops make pictures around and sitting in the car.
5- Finding a woman's business card on ur parked sky ?
A female co-worker my wife thought had no taste put her card on the car while I was having lunch with wifey. When I call wifey to tell her about the card she asked her co-worker who left the card and all she could say was "That Car is HOT!!!"
6- Finding an attractive lady leading on ur parked sky/redline ?
Not 1 but I found 4 attractive women ages 20ish to 50ish around Sultry with the alarm going off. They had unlocked the door and were taking turns sitting in and taking phone pictures. When I asked What the Heck, the response from the cutest was, "Well Do You mind stopping the noise, the car gets enough attention!".
7- Making out / getting laid in ur sky / redline OR because of.......when u failed to "close-the-deal" previously?
I haven't found any deals to close that the wife was ok with, but when I do...more to come on that.
8- Getting a "flashed" while driving ur SKY ?
Coming home from work on 283 between Lancaster and Harrisburg I was flashed by a mid-20's lady who was passenger in a Mercedes ragtop who awarded me 2 'Points'. I was feeling pretty good about myself and Sultry when a Ford mini-van pull along side and a mid-20s gentleman flashed his 'approval' for Sultry. I took both as equal compliments. My wife was kind of jealous....for not being with me to enjoy the reactions.
9- Using the car to start a conversation with a HOT LADY?
Always if they don't start asking questions, so that mean about 3 times since December.
10 - Being asked for a ride...from a woman that previously never paid u any attention?
A co-worker of mine who did not talk to me from June 2005 until December 2006. She told me, and I don't understand the logic, that until I get Sultry she thought I was a creepy old man.....First of all I drove an '06 ION and before that an '03 VUE and 2nd of all I'm only 47. But now she has had 3 rides in Sultry to go, "Anywhere".
11 - Being asked for a ride from a strange woman ??
The strangest woman was my ex-wife who thinks Sultry is "kind of cute". Of course I said, "NO".....but if any Strange Women in the Harrisburg area want a ride....well anyway.

Not most certainly but a significant number of the people who owned or lusted for the British sports cars of the 50's, 60's and 70's that I have been talking about. These older folk are also Miata/MX5 owners. I am one of those older people, driving my '96 Miata until I afford a new Red Line.

MY Sky is jointly owned on paper by my husband and myself.
But it is my car - I fell in love with the Sky BEFORE they were for sale.
And when I found out they were going to have a RL - I decided to wait to make my purchase.
I am the one behind the wheel 95% of the time.

Both my husband & daughter think that getting in & out of the drivers seat is a pain. I have no problem with my SKY other than suffering from PERMAGRIN.

Our story is the same...my wife fell in love with the Sky over a year ago. But I asked her to hold off buying until it had more power. She still wanted it (I want the Dodge Challenger), she found one for sale, a RedLine, just the way she wanted it (we didn't order it), and she purchased it (I was there, joint ownership), she drives it 80% of the time (for me it is a pain to climb in & out of), the payment come's directly out of her paycheck, and she named it Ebonysky. I'm just the wash monkey!

The Sky is in both names only for survivorship issues (I already have 2 other cars in my name) - but it is ALL MINE! My husband has driven it less than 50 miles since last October. I must credit him with putting down the deposit as a surprise for me. But when it comes to driving, washing, detailing, dusting, grinning - those are my jobs!

My husband says he is afraid to go out of town now. lol

Last week he was following me home after we picked my SKY up from the detailer & he noticed that guys seem to pay a LOT of attention to me & my car when he is not sitting in the passenger seat.

But I keep reminding him that none of them can hold a candle to him because he is the one who bought me my dream car!!
