Did you have a hand in this sir? If so, nice work.

You expect a $60k car to mirror the ideals of a car that costs $200,000 more? To get the price point where they have it, there have to be some pretty major compromises. Even factoring in the buying power and numbers produced, shaving off that kind of weight on a first gen model (because lets face it, this is a first gen car regardless of calling it an 8th gen model) takes some serious engineering and materials.

Now that the C8 is out...u can see how ugly the C7 is/was. I should not say ugly but the fanfare when it appeared was alot of nothing...

U can now purchase a new C7 for 45K plus tax....they will never get rid of them.

I'll take a C7 over a C4, C5 or C6 anyday.

Though I'd love to have a C3...love that 70s body style.

+1. I'm fond of those myself. C3 being my first pick, then a Grand Sport C7 T-top, or whatever it's called.

I like the styling of the C2 - very 1960s, but would never consider owning one - drive like trucks.

Agree that the C7 looked like something that came out of a bad dream the designer for the Transformer movies had, but don't think it passed the border of 'ugly' for me - just not my thing.

The 67 vette was my favorite. Of course it came with WW tires...or red walls.

I had the chance to compare the old & new Corvette versions recently at a car show this past Sunday.

The newer C7 Stingray: Sharp. Dark Maroon, with black trim. All the bells & whistles. Drew attention.
Proud owner answering the many questions about it. Bigger in size when compared to the early versions of the Vette.
More of everything. More size. More weight. More motor.

In retro spec here.. it's what's hot with the younger generation for now, until proven otherwise.

The older model 69-ish (?) maybe a 67 w/ 327 engine, not a soul around it. No owner. No kids gawking.
It's not hot, not enough Transformer look to it. Plain Jane. Less is more here imo.
I would take this one, but that's just me. Don't get me wrong here either
I would take a new C7 in a heartbeat.
But... not the same style as the older model which in my case appeals to me more.

That because the C7 has Honda R type accents all over the rear and for some odd reason, people like that crap.

Maybe we are both wrong and it will break sub 4 second 0-60 times.

I agree, they missed the boat on the dimensions and size. That thing is huge.
It will without a doubt break the 4 second barrier... during the launch event they said it will break the 3 second barrier. That may be the Z51 package, it might not be (the president of GM insinuated it wasn't the Z51 package), but it seems ridiculous for them to lie about it during the launch event.

Not paying their execs with the bailout money

Honoring items that are stated in writing as under warranty are other easy examples.

The ignition recall

The Kappa Airbag fight

Self Deploying airbags on Off road versions of their trucks and track versions of their cars.

So which one of those is even remotely related to a stated 0-60 time?

You asked for examples, I gave them.

If you don't want an answer, don't quote someone and ask them a direct question.
