My dad has died

My name is Kelly Cothran. My dad Skip died this morning at around 2:00 AM. I called him this morning after daddys nite last nite to see how he was and did not get an answer. So on my way to work, I went by his house and knocked on the door, no answer. I used my keys he gave me to let myself in and went into his bedroom. He was all curled up and when I touched him to turn him over he was cold as the air around him. He was blue in the face so I called Hospice of Huntsville and they came out and called the coronor. He had died in his sleep. He always wanted that. His heart had stopped as well as his breathing. The coronor said it was his breathing that finally killed him. Pulmonary Fibrosis had finally had its way. He loved this forum very much. So much that when he sold his SkipSky he cried. I had noticed he was not feeling well yesterday evening when all us kids were over for Thursday nite daddys nite. He asked me if anything like this was to happen to please post on this forum so that all his friends would know that what had come to past. Please remember him in your prayers. Yours in Christ .....Kelly Cothran

I also deleted what I wrote.

I realized it was April Fools Day, but in my wildest dreams I didn't think someone would be that cruel to joke about something like this. I guess I was wrong. I'm still very sad, but for a different reason now. I'm sad and disappointed in human nature today.

Kelly, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Like the others that have posted before me, I never met him but enjoyed his wit which at times helped calm some disturbed soul on the forum. I did p.m. him during one point of his facing this crisis, but then again, so did many others to encourage him. He will be missed. Having lost my own dad, and father-in-law, recently, I can to some extent understand what you are going through. It sounds to me, however, that you should have no regrets in that you did all you could for your dad and continued to bring joy into his life. Today, that is a rare quality in families.

Sorry but I have lost too many friends to ever think that was funny or an April Fools joke!

It is with a sad heart that I have to say that my dad put me up to this on the day we call APRIL FOOLS DAY. He is too old and cantankerous to die. The only way he told me he would die is with a bottle of Gentleman Jack half gone and a 24 year old girl who is not a hooker in his bed. So as you can see I hope you know that the old man is alive and is out now going to buy a bottle of his favorite whisky because it is the weekend for him. Do not cry over him unless yours tears have Black Jack , Gentleman Jack or one barrel Jack flowing.....Yours in a life a moment .......Kelly or Skip whatever......
