2 Days 200 Miles

Picked up my car yesterday and put about 200 miles on it. Here are my observations.

Good
  • Plenty of get up and go. After reading some of the threads here I thought the car would move as slow as an old Ford Escort. It accelerates better than my 3.0 X-Type.
  • Compliments. People really love the white with red & black leather.
  • I love driving it. Plain and simple.
Bad
  • Scratch from hood raised with door open. Was already there when I picked it up. I pointed it out as my salesperson was telling me to never do that.
  • Appears to be a tiny indention from the front of the hood touching.
Other
  • LOTS of attention. Everyone friendly so far (except people in 90's Firebirds it seems). Lot of people wanting to talk at stop lights.
  • I think I smell gas sometimes while driving. When I go in to have the paint touched up I will mention it.
  • Some kind of sticker residue on drivers side rear panel. You can barely see a square outline.
  • At 5'7" 280 the seats are about exactly fit to me. Has a snug race car feel. The seat feels the same as my other car, but less room between the seat & the door. After 120 miles the first day, I never felt uncomfortable.
  • Will have to be more patient when changing lanes to the right. I need to stretch a little to see over "My Humps". I don't like to use my mirror solely when making a lane change that way.

I only have one so far and it was taken with a bad picture phone. I need to buy a dig camera.

Thanks for the update. I love the white with the two tone interior. Looks more race like.

Rackin up the miles

Boy can I relate.......been driving it almost constantly, about 300 in two days. Here are my observations:

1) I have gotten nothing but compliments, even got a wave and toot from the siren of a State Tropper as he passed me going the opposite direction (no I wasn't speeding)

2) Most people don't beleive its a Saturn

3) Been challenged by a Toyo MR2 and a Honda Prelude.....they didnt stand a chance.......Smoked'm like a fine cigar!

4) Have a problem with the rag top.......see previous post.

5) Still enjoying the burning paint smeel from the exhaust

6) Got 23.6 MPG on the first tank of gas...average speed 29 MPH

7) Sporting a considerable "Burn" from over exposure during the 5 hour cruise thru the country back roads

8) ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS CAR!!!

This is the first time I have bought a new car that made other people envious....which is a wonderful added benefit.

Thats the first time for me to see the red/black combo on a Polar white. I like it.
