Big Mirror is here

Ok, let's see if I can get pics to load, but very fast shipping. My wife thinks I'm nuts, I agree and I didn't even tell her how much I paid for this.

Mine came today. Priority two day mail is incredible. I see this all the time with train stuff I order.

I haven't picked mine up from the mail box, but notification says it is out for delivery.

I'm glad that those of you that have these are happy with them, and no offense here, but I can't help but feel that if the GT had continued production for a few more years, owners of the 2010+ cars would be removing these and replacing them with the original mirrors. They look like they belong on a Mokka or some other SUV, not on a roadster...

As Bob has said, once they are on the car the size is a lot less obvious, especially if the smaller mirror is not there for comparison.

That said, you are correct that people would be changing them out, simply because everyone always seems to want "the other thing".

I can't help but think had GM met the EU visibility requirements from the beginning and put these on, no one would care or comment.

And I think one of the cars in the banner at the top of each page has the bigger mirrors and no one ever commented.

That's a good call since right now you can't switch if you wanted to as there are no passenger side ones available.

But Dave should just put on the left side anyway. The large size of those mirrors will cut some 2-4% off the Kappas top speed, so why not at least cut that loss in top speed in half!!

Jealousy is a terrible thing.

I attended the National this past summer with my yellow Skpel. I was fortunate to win 1st place in the highly modified class, both Solstice and Sky and a look alike Opel GT(mine). I had people tell me to enter in the unlimited class to give Rob some competition. My car was a major hit at the National, and I am very thankful for that. But never a single comment about the mirrors, not a single one, other than the people that I told about them and they actually sat in the car a looked thru them.

You don't notice them on the car. But once you drive with them, you can not understand the reason for the small mirrors. I am so thankful these were found and that I now have three sets. I feel the wife and other drivers have benefited from this find, if no one else does. I know Robert Neighbors will benefit as I am sending his out on Thursday morning.

And yes the yellow and black car at the top of the banner is my yellow Skpel and it has the mirrors on it.

I will say that I think they are noticeable from behind, but not out of place.

I think they should be on every Kappa out there, but my guess is the cost would have kept them only on the Euro cars. These were made to meet European standards, the same standards that Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti have to meet.

Apologies for the dirty car pictures, it has not been washed or cleaned since the National last June.

Wind tunnel data shows that by moving these mirrors futher away from the A-pillar the air goes between the mirror and the a-pillar effectively lowering the air resistance, should increase top speed about 3.1415% of course Hydro Blue is already proven to be 10% faster so I don't really need the increase.

Oh and only putting on one side would make such an imbalance that at some speed I think its 88 mph the car would have a huge pull to one side and you would just go in circles. Which would the create a tornado that would lift your car up and take you to oz.

Trust me Dave he lives in Oz, no trip needed!!!!!! lol

I don't know about them slowing the car down. Gassor and I hooked up in a run across Garner Valley, exact same car, same Trifecta tune and mine just walked away from him, quickly. Maybe they actually act as a draft and make the car faster.....

Either way, I have three sets of the gawd awful things, and nothing makes me happier.
