Chili Pepper Red also looked much darker in the pictures and website, but in real life it's much brighter, that was pretty dissapointing to me.

Reminds me of FRENCH blue on my 75 Triumph Spitfire. I have since repainted it a darker blue. Yes I painted it myself.. Skip....Rembrant I ain't...

I would like to see other pictures of the car with Bluestone. I really think this is the lighting. If you look at the Outlook parts of it look almost the same color even though appears to be Silver Graphite.

Check it out!

Anyone remember when I did that photochop of black headlights.... funny. Anyway, I actually don't mind the color. I wonder how many people are gonna switch to RL exterior parts.

I'm going to the show tomorrow after work. I'll report on the color as it appears in person. I don't feel like going out to buy a camera, so phone pics will have to do, though.

I have nothing wrong with this color. I am a black on black kind of guy, but I don't think this is bad at all.

The Sky RL on display at the auto show was Midnight Blue, and that strange blue color was nowhere to be seen.

The RL was beautiful and the dual exhaust looked great, but there were two things I really didn't like:

The nonfunctional side vents had a grey plastic insert that draws attention to them and makes them look even more fake if you look from the rear of the car.

The Sky RL logo is embroidered on the seats. I thought it looked bad, and then I realized that could've been because it was frayed and starting to come apart. Keep in mind that this car was roped off and no one was sitting in it.

I also looked at a regular Sky that people were sitting in and pawing over. I checked the leather stitching and interior door handles and noted both were perfect. The leather on the driver's seat was a little loose, but acceptable. I think I'll go back next weekend and see how the car has held up. This should give some indication what my car will look like after I've gotten in and out a few thousand times.

The mystery of "bluestone"

I went to the Saturn dealer in Racine WI today. They had just gotten the color chart from Saturn that included bluestone. To my great relief, it was just like the color I had first seen in the early literature. A deep, blue gray metallic. Not the pale, pastel blue color of the redline at the New York auto show. No one at the dealership knew why this color is not initially available. However, I prefer that color and am willing to wait for it. Incidently, while I was there I got to test drive a Sky that they had just gotten in as a demo. I was very impressed. If you really want to know what bluestone looks like, go to a dealer and look at the chart. I was considering changing my color choice until I saw it.
