coolant low every 1000 miles

I get a coolant low alert - because the coolant level really is low - about every 1000 miles.

When I take off the cap there's a solid vapor lock.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get it back to very rarely?

Thanks

Look at your water pump for a leak

9 times out of 10, that issue in these cars is the water pump. Already went through this myself.

^ In for the forth...

I'll also add you may want to look at the area of your block right under the water pump. You may see some redish colored stains there which would also be indicative of a leaking water pump. This is more common on the Turbo cars but I had the one on my 2.4 start to go bad too.

If you don't know where your water pump is, see the attached picture. While this is the 2.0 Turbo engine, the 2.4 has it in the same spot. Note that in this picture, the turbo would be on the passenger side of the engine bay.

This a normal problem with these cars, be it NA or Redline. But you need to get it fixed before it becomes a big problem.
