easy way to remove/replace Mylar protectors?

I'm in the process of removing the cracked and unsightly Mylar sheets where the top locks down on my Sky. it is very, very tedious trying to get it up little by little by hand and not damage the finish. I've used a blow dryer to soften but am leery of overdoing that too. Anyone else do this and have suggestions? Thanks for your help.

If you are using a hair dryer you can't really overdo it. That level of heat will not damage the paint.

Its clearbra material. If you let it sit in the sun with direct exposure it will heat it up which helps.
