Maybe this supports your premise in a way, but my early SKY NA (prior to Redlines) has a Compnine color code called VICTORY RED. My understanding was that it was later called CHILI PEPPER RED, but I don't know if the shade was different or the same.

Same color and code, Victory Red was the standard GM Generic Name, it was called Chili Pepper Red on the Sky and Aggressive on the Solstice.

All three are the same.

It might be nothing more than a change in the primer coat. It might be nothing more that the difference in the way the light was hitting the car. Silver's have a way of deceiving the viewer, same as the yellows that everyone was always commenting about!

Except...the Yellows needed a base white paint job...that's why they tacked on an extra 500 dollars for that color...and they still couldn't get it right because of the different materials used in the build. I swear my car is brighter...

Does anyone know where to find the paint code on these things, or is it only found utilizing the VIN? Ive got one tiny scratch, but because i know its there it reflects in my mind like a giant gouge. I want to get some touch up paint for it.

Mike, aren't all those paint codes three (3) digits? I think the correct code for silver is 67U, maybe. But, you did get 2 out of 3!

I'm interested if you're selling! Where are you located?? I have an 07 Base, red with under 10K miles! I just spoke with him and asked if he'd be willing to come off his price since I'd have to put new rubber on it! The tires are close to 12 years old! He sounded like he was gonna stand pat so I'm looking elswhere! I told him safely is paramount for my daughter to be driving that car on 12 year old tires! Told him if he can't sell and willing to come off that price maybe we can do business! We'll see!!!

They should be on the big white sticker on the backside of the glove box door. Towards the bottom.
