I hear people mention FB all the time

So lots of people talk about folks defecting to facebook, or seeing a post on facebook, or buying a part off facebook. Is there any consolidated list of all the kappa related facebook groups. I use to be in about 4 or 5 and still felt like folks were commenting about posts, that were in other group.

One of the reasons I prefer a forum over FB for a specific topic.

I am a GM Engineer.

I do not claim to be a GM representative, all of my postings are my own interpretation and personal opinions.

Saturn SKY/Opel GT/Pontiac Solstice/Daewoo G2X Owners is the name of the "main" group which is by far the most active. There are two other large groups that are buy/sell mainly, then the old GM roadster group, also a European based group, and then tons of local groups.

Pontiac Solstice & Saturn Sky Autos & Parts For Sale
Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice, Opel GT Classifieds & Tech
GM Roadster Club
Opel GT / Saturn SKY / Pontiac Solstice - Germany

You are better off just staying on the forum for info, the only thing the FB groups are good for is seeing alot of pictures of peoples cars which I do enjoy.

That's the one that I was mentioning in my post before.

Facebook is decent for information the problem is you can't go back and look for old posts to answer your question. Of course the way people post a new thread without searching the forum to begin with makes Facebook PERFECT for them.

To me, I like both formats for different reasons. Facebook is more social and it's great if you're looking for local events and car shows. I get a lot of my car show leads from Facebook whereas they don't get posted very often in forums. Forums rock though for research information and repair information because the threads are easier (comparatively) to search and locate information than Facebook.

jburbs, that is exactly right .... spending TOO MUCH time on FB is a waste! I rather spend that time on the Kappa forums. At least I might learn something, not just be wasting time.

I'm not afraid of facebook, but I don't use it very often. I don't really like the way it is formatted.

I lurk on Facebook a lot but mainly only get into discussions within private groups. I rarely post on my own page....however....lately I've been posting photos of the Cars & Coffee meets.

One time my daughter posted that we were going on vacation to Florida for a week. I said "Are you crazy? Take that off of there. There's no need to tell all your friends that our house will be vacant for a week."

It amazes me how much personal stuff people put on Facebook. It can get you in a lot of trouble.

I don't get this, I have less than 100 friends on FB probably less than 50 but have not checked lately, Most are family. I am on a few groups of topics I am interested in and leave groups I am don't like. I waste far more time searching and reading on this forum than FB.

People seem to forget you have control of what you see in facebook, you just have to take control.
