Hi Barb and Ed

Let me start by saying I commend your effort to grab pix and video of the event. Its a great way to chronicle the good and bad, ouch that little accident had to hurt, club events and look back in the years to come and "Remember When?". Its also a great way for those of us in other parts of the country to see the sights during the runs that we may not normally be able to see, so kudos and thank you.

Ok, feedback. I know its a bit tricky to hold a camera still in a moving vehicle and with the wind buffeting you at every moment but a way to stablilze the camera would help immensely. Break up the footage. You've probably got at least 3 or 4 videos you can make out of what you showed. Not that I mind a long video as long as its holding my attention. Music adds so much to a video of this type but are you making the video to fit the length/tone of the song or editing the video then adding music? One thing I've learned during school is less, is actually more. What that means is, you don't need to show every minute of every piece of footage to get the gist of what you are showing.

Example. There is a part in the video where it appears everyone is stopped. I'm assuming thats when the little fascia and hood bending occured. If you look at the footage, the camera drifts to the right, therefore, showing the right pillar of the windshield area. Not too exciting to watch interior trim age . Cut things like that out. Also, the cop writing the ticket? is funny if thats what he was indeed doing but cut down the amount of time that part is shown. As long as we get the idea of whats going on, you don't have to show him writing out the whole ticket, like I said, if thats what he's indeed doing.

Track footage: very cool, have watched many races on that track and jeolous of those that got to drive it with their Skys/Soltices or would that be Soltici? I like the fact you added transitions to the vids, just make them a bit smoother and not so abrupt. The track footage would work better if you used a fade type transition when you're switching from following the yellow Sky to looking back at the midnite blue? black? one.

Filling in space. Great pix of some very unusual vehicles and turkeys. Use some of the I'm sure many still pictures you have from the event to fill those spots of the cars, the scenery or even the members that were there.

Overall though, I did enjoy the video and like I said, was very cool to see an area of the county I've never been to. I watched the video for the first time today so hope this "helps" and don't hate me for the suggestions.

Hi Chicago, I really appreciate all the tips on the video making. I bought a monopod in hopes of mounting it somewhere to help steady the pictures, but have not found a way to put it on and hold it in place yet. I know that the video turned out quite a bit longer than my first one but I was trying to cram the whole weekend event into one video, I should of made several I guess. I guess I am trying to make the video last for the length of the songs chosen as well. Actually the cop was our parade lap escort at the Laguna Seca race track and was being a good sport, I asked him to PRETEND to write me a ticket for not having a front license plate so I could show the picture to my son who also is a cop, who likes to give me crap for no front plate. I am still learning and hope that the next videos end up even better, our club is going to Yosemite in Oct. Thanks again, Barb

Hey Barb,

Not a problem and youre quite welcome. I look forward to the next installment. I was trying to load a project I did for school using my Ion Red Line but the file seems to be a bit large for the forum to handle. Its a Quicktime movie clip, 30 seconds long but has all kinds of effects in it boosting the file size. So if anyone has a suggestion on how I could load it here, that would be great.

Very cool idea for the cop and plate. But your son should be understanding of those of us who appreciate the lines of the car and not ruining it with a plate.

Thanks to brentil for getting youtube tags working. Start a link with [ yt ] and end with [ /yt ] to embed youtube vids. (without the blanks).

Now, to see if it works..

Hmm. Took a sec. Just put the youtube vid id in the tags.

You don't put the full link, but rather just the youtube id number. Start with [yt], put the id number which is at the end of the youtube url, and end with [/yt] to close it out.

Ex: [yt]34ukcmFzcGo[/yt] where the 34...Go was the youtube video id.

Nice pics. Scenery is phenomenal, goes nicely with the car ...

Only one question ... you actually put stuff on the hood of your car?
