Leaking when in car wash

I have the '08 redline. Every time I go through a car wash she leaks on both corner of the ragtop where it meets the front windshield. She doesn't leak when it rains. Does anyone else have the issue?

Our cars r not waterproof....nobody that I know takes their SKY through a car wash. They know better.

You do get a BONUS by going through the wash....your trunk is flooded. LOL

I normally hand wash her. Sometimes I am in heels and a suit....and want to get bugs and pollen off her. Sorry I am not perfect.

Yes, it leaks. For the odd time I run mine through a car wash, I carry two rags with me & hold them in the top corners to catch the water.

I took my previous Sky ('08 redline) through the car wash MANY times...it never leaked a drop.

I have not taken my new Sky through it yet, but I probably will at some point soon. The previous owner said that it doesn't leak, but I won't know for sure until I try it.

I use a small power washer when I wash mine. It only had a small leak once and I think it's because I hit the passenger window at a wierd angle. I won't do that again.

I have never taken my SKY through an automatic wash. High pressure water will cause it to leak. I normally use a coin operated, self service car wash. I'm careful to avoid using the high pressure water around the windows and windshield. I've driven my SKY through heavy rain for several hours with no leaks.

My Saab 9-3 convertible didn't leak either of the 2x I took it through the automatic. I only did it because I had to, but I would only NOT take my Sky through because the seal/closing doesn't seem like it's as "solid" as the Saab was. I also don't like nor trust the design of the snorkels in the trunk.

Of course I want to try the automatic now, but I am going to avoid the temptation.

This Sky's not perfect, but it's perfect...for me

How bad is the leak? Whenever I wash my car with a pressure washer or car wash it does drip a little up by the front windshield. It isn't much..very very little really...so unless you're getting like a major wet spot inside the car, I would say it's from the high pressure water pushing past the seal and I have always considered it normal since it is a convertible. I try and hand wash my car using a pressure washer or hose and avoid spraying directly at that seal between the windows and top.

I think it states in the manual, not to take the Sky through an automatic car wash.

That's what I remember too...it's why I'm always careful around those seals.

I had a client that owned a car wash. Lots of cars leak when you aim high pressure jets of water at them from unusual angles.

Just go to a hand wash place.
