The instructions are really good and if you follow those, there shouldn't be any surprises. I love mine but you'll notice that the shifts are a lot more precise and the whole pattern tightens up.

One of my favorite mods! I added a nice heavy stainless knob as well. Love it.

Mike;

I have had my DDM Short Shifter for nearly 3 years now. IMO it was probably one of the best mods I made. It was very easy to install, everything was done inside the car. IMO the shifting is much closer and more precise but then again that's just a personal opinion. Personally I really don't think you could go wrong with this mod. With my installation, I used the new shifter, knob and boot.

It is easy to install only if the allen screws come out easily - sometimes they seem welded in there. Be sure not to use a cheap allen key or you may twist it if you need to really reef on it.

Agree that it is a very useful mod.

I could see that, I guess I was very fortunate.

Install was about 1 hour and it makes a big difference. itís a little stiff for a week or two but then it breaks in and works great. Worth the money.

A PS on this sort of shifter. Many seem to go for much heavier than stock shift knobs on the theory that it makes shifting somehow easier. My experience is the opposite and I mounted a light wood knob. I can shift using two fingers on the shift basically without much effort at all. And my car thus weighs a couple of ounces less than the heavy shifter crowd!

Easy to install, Also got the boot, adapter and the stainless gearshift knob with trim.
It looks and feels great in my 2008 redline.
The car shifts smoother and goes into reverse without a hitch. Definitely the best modification I made to the car. Thank you
DDM.

This is probably the single best modification I've made for my car, I'd highly recommend it.

But, I will advise, in the instructions, they say to cut the inner boot to get access. I did this, and I'd recommend that you do not. That boot definitely keeps input shaft whine out of the interior of your car, and replacing it with a fully intact example is something that's still on my to-do list. Take the extra time to disassemble the rest of the console, drill out the rivets, and then reinstall it correctly.

I could not agree more. Itís a bit more effort and a tight squeeze with all the trim in. If youíre doing a stereo install, perfect time as itís a breeze with the trim removed.

Fairly easy to install, just follow the instructions as Mike suggested. On mine, I had to break out a small butane torch to loosen the setscrew on the shifter that had been installed at the factory with blue loctite. Other than that, pretty simple. I love mine!
