P2138 Solved.

Took the C100 connector apart and cleaned it. Also applied dielectric grease for good measure. In the 3 weeks since the code hasn't repeated- the longest yet. Glad I didn't have to solder anything.

Seems a couple people have had some problems so I'll bump this.

If you've had problems this may fix it. I'll try to post the exact pins that need to be soldered today.

I know I'm one of the folks with issues.

It is NOT a good idea to remove this connector completely in one fell swoop WITHOUT TAKING THOROUGH PICTURES OF THE CONNECTOR'S WIRING BEFOREHAND.

If you ARE having issues with this connector, it might disintegrate when you remove the gray plastic guards holding the pins in like mine did leaving you with a handfull of very similarly colored wires and no idea which ones connect to which other ones

Concurrently, depending on your vehicle trim level, transmission, and presence of LSD, the wires may or may not be the same color on both sides of the connector.

Good luck straightening it out .

... but if you STILL want to do this, here's the connector pinout/wire color guide.

All wires line up on all Skies (so it appears) except for the D-Row, which is different for every transmission/trim level.

On mine, I have the orange/green wire on one side. Because I have a manual redline model, I found out very... uhh... scientifically.. yeah (guessed), that this corresponds to the tan wire. So the gray wire corresponds to the blue/white. If anybody wants to do this. If I find out something's made poorly, I gotta rip the whole thing out. No 1/2-assin' it! Thanks again for this sticky.

ArikDahn, the pic you posted seems to be a thumbnail. Way too small to be able to read anything, anyway.

Can you try again?

Wow, you're right. How the heck did that happen? I will re-up when I get home. Working noon-midnight today.

EDIT: Okay I re-upped the image. It looks good now. Probably something about how vB deals with png's. Once I converted to jpg, seems we're good. Thanks for letting me know.

In regards to the connector and the harness, would it be advisable to maybe use electrical tape to hold this together better? Or is there another way to prevent this issue?

There it really no other way to fix this problem. With the small wires and conne tier pins vibration alone causes the problem. You could try putting some thin foam rubber around it but eventually it's going to have a problem anyway.

Thanks for posting this very valuable info, Rick!

Re: the photos. You said that the first shows the location of the C-100 connector. Stupid me! I can't identify any components in the photo to tell where it is!

Could you please give a verbal description of the location? LH side of motor? near firewall? Or what?

Sorry for the silly question.

Thanks again!

Hi Yoki
No question is silly  The connector is under the bracket the holds the fuse box. The easiest way to get to it is take the inner wheel well out then it's right there.

similar problems, but a question

I have been having similar problems, Limp mode, codes that are all over the place from fuel rail to throttle position sensor, cam shaft timing sensors...ect. My question is, how did you know which wires on the C100 harness to jump? I noticed you only jumped a few of the wires. I plan on working on rewiring this tomorrow.
Thanks

Have you checked your battery already? Many times problems like these can be traced to a bad battery or charging system. Be sure to rule this out first before jumping pins in the harness.

I had it in the shop with a mechanic for 2 1/2 weeks, before he said "I don't know, find someone better then me." I am sure he would have checked the charge system and battery... I hope.
