I also must have been lucky, i pre-adjusted and greased the hinges before the installation, taped the doors really well with reference marks and under door spacers and when i removed all the tape after hinges and shocks installation, i had about 1/8 inch to adjust up to latch perfectly!

I did the instalation all by myself in 6 hours and my girlfriend helped me keeping the doors up when putting the shocks on. I also replaced the original battery before putting the passerger hinge so i don't have to worry about undoing all this.
I will keep all the original hinges just in case but I daught I will be back to original.

I'm glad to read from some of you that the doors gets a bit easier to close with time because it is a bit of a concern to me now (mostly for my girlfriend) but she doesn't drive it much anyway...

I will post a few pictures (as soon as I wash my car and remember how to post pics again )

Take care

Here are a couple of pictures.

BUMP an old thread with a question

Care to elaborate on the battery comment? I just replaced my battery a few weeks ago. How much more work would have been involved if I had the vertical doors? it's already too much work to get the battery out, dunno if I'm down for a longer process lol. I'm pondering getting the VDI's as I found them for a pretty good deal, didn't even take the battery situation into consideration though.

After the doors are installed, it is no more work to replace the battery after.

There is some minor trimming of the fender and fender mounting racket, but this will NOT affect future battery replacement.

It makes no difference to replacing the battery.
Remove the fender pull it out that way
turn the wheels all the way and pull it out the wheel well
