After searching for over 2 years the timing was finally right. Picked this gem up today with 21k miles 5 speed manual. All thanks to this forum.

Hands down the best color. Unfortunately I never saw it before I bought mine. I wanted the regular red one, but never found what I was looking for. Then bought the yellow and love it, but the Ruby Red is stunning. Glad you got that baby, be sure and post lots of pictures.

Just bought a Ruby Red Sky about a month ago here in Houston. Beautiful car which attracts a lot of attention. Mine had 69,000 miles which is less than our family sedan. Performs well with no apparent problems. Has had the inspection routine at a Chevrolet dealer.

Would you believe! When purchased, it had four different tires on it. Last week, I replaced them with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, thanks to information on the forum. I've never paid much attention to tires before, but these really made a noticeable difference.

Hope you enjoy your Sky as much as we have ours.

Love that color. Second favorite only to the Midnight Blue. We have a couple that show up at our runs sometimes and I just love them. You're going to love this car! Welcome!

Sure. They are 106472.

In a great coincidence, the build date was on my birthday in 2008!

According to Compnine, there were only 133 built of the Ruby Red SE base. From your efforts, do you have any idea how many are still on the road?

Correct VIN and new one

Thank you RedOne. You are right the correct VIN is without the extra zeros. This is the second 2009 Ruby Red SE Redline that I have owned.

I was involved in a rear-end collision a few years ago and my first Ruby Red got totaled. The VIN number for that one was: 1G8MV35X09Y102871.
Pictures for the old Sky can be found on my photos as part of my Forum ID.

After I got the money from the insurance I went and found another Ruby Red SE in Pennsylvania and purchased. I bought this Sky from one of the Saturn Sky Forum members. She had nice pictures loaded. Let me find her login name and will post it, so you can see the current Sky pics.

RedOne07,

In case it is useful, this is my full VIN: 1G8MP35B89Y106472

If there are only 33 unidentified, maybe someone with a dealer-type access to Compnine could check those for you since you have the VINs.

The only rare car is the Cognac Sky. One of one produced. I would like to qualify this...and if u have a SKY with a red dash...that would certainly qualify.

What color was it when it passed the end of the production line. I ask because there was no color code RPO on the CompNine report when I looked it up.

I had always assumed it was painted by whoever did the customization.

Now it is questionable since no RPO associated with the car.

RRSE - Ruby Red Special Edition

Positions 4 & 5 in the VIN:
MC = Sky Base RRSE with Manual Ttansmission
MH = Sky Redline RRSE with Manual Transmission
MP = Sky Base RRSE with Auto Transmission
MV = Sky Redline RRSS with Auto Transmission

At least that's what the GM published VIN decoder for 2009 indicates.

But weren't you heading for northern WI ?
Once again, seems that GM's VIN system is somewhat discretionary? The exact word I want is escaping me right now.

Got back to home late last night. I'm a bit under the weather today.
