so what causes broken ring lands, too much heat, boost, dynamic compression?

yeah that would be a good comparison, performance wise not quality wise lol. we lack very much in that department. the s2k won car of the year a couple of times on top gear uk.

i know when i did autocross one time i got beat by 2 s2ks. one was in stock bs-class the other was in preparred, bsp-class. theyre great little roadsters.

It's a liability thing. Most places don't allow the posting of street racing.

The videos of people at proper race tracks would be fine.

Not sure how a significant engine knock problem would materialize with damage on our turbo engines. But, I would think it would be similar to what I grew up with: On naturally aspirated engines, if you were running to much knock; it would almost always blow a hole through the top of the piston and/or burn the living crap out of the valves. I don't recall ever seeing the rings let go from an engine knock issue.
Never got to see it opened up. All I know is what they told me which is pieces of the piston were found inside the oil pan... Don't really know what caused it.

RPM Motorsports Tune

What do you all think of the RPM Motorsports Tune?
Their website is a little mis-leading. When you do a Stage 2 upgrade, they basically let you borrow the tuner, not sell it to you like it looks like on the website.
Thanks for your input.

I just did the Stage III tune with RPM and would highly recommend it. The process works like this:
1. Buy and install performance parts, upgraded turbo, down pipe, charge pipes etc...
2. Make sure car runs and drives.
3. Call and request tuner kit which consists of laptop and HP Tuners cable.
4. Schedule a time to do the remote tune once kit arrives.
5. Send tuner kit to next customer when done.
6. Buy new tires.
