So im looking to replace my intercooler. I had the RPM performance intercooler in now but it's sprung a leak. I'm gonna have it welded but id rather go with a new one. Does anyone have the WERKS intercooler installed and can give me a review? Or anyone have any info on which intercooler would work better for my build? Here's my full car specs

Rpm motorsports upgraded K04 turbo
Rpm intercooler
Rpm charge pipes
Rpm cold air
RPM tune (coming)
RPi exhaust system
High flow Magnaflow CARB legal Cat.
Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 tires

I read that the werks is a bit smaller but rated at 675 hp whereas the RPM is rated at 600 hp.

Thanks for reading!

2 others you might look at:

DDMWorks used to have an IC good to 600hp...you might have to contact Dave as I couldn't find it in a quick check of their website.

The other is Hahn...although I know last summer someone was having a real issue getting an IC they ordered from him....

I use the Werks IC. More than enough cooling for anything you can put out. No issues with installation. Been in there for ten years now. Same/similar turbo to yours.

I love the look of the Hahn one but I hear it takes some cutting to get to fit and that makes me nervous

Both the WERKS and RPM intercoolers are good units and you really can't go wrong with either. Both will support the power your build currently has with some headroom if you decide to try and make more power. 600whp is more than most LNF/LE5 builds I know. My build I'm shooting for 450-500 and that's full built internals with a fairly good sized turbo.

I have the Hahn intercooler on mine. Last year Hahn was in the middle of trying to get his shop moved to Daytona Beach and hire some new employees. I know he has moved into the new shop but I don't know what his production times look like right now. I love the Hahn intercooler and the only part you do need to cut is the plastic ducting that sits behind the OEM Intercooler. It's some minor cutting (A Dremmel makes it easy...) and isn't too major.

Are any of them 100% drop in, zero cutting/modifying? Other than stock of course.

I've had my Werks IC installed for a few years now with no issues. I even bought it used to save a few hundred bucks. It was not completely drop in as it was supposed to be. I remember having issues with IC piping hitting the hood on teh driver's side that I had to mess with and I seem to remember fighting it on the bottom as well. I remember installing and removing it multiple times but with the same results each time. Either way, I'm happy with it in the end.

I am looking at replacing the intercooler on my 08 redline (werks). Do I have to take off the bumper to swap this out ? if so , are there any complicated situations ?

Yes bumper has to come off as does the center lower ductwork...well, that doesn't have to come off but it makes it easier and I believe that ductwork has to be trimmed some for the Werks intercooler.

Thanks . I have watched a few videos , does not look bad . I am also replacing the ic pipes , sensors and installing a cold air intake . Do you think removing the hood would be a good idea , or would it be more trouble than it is worth ?

No need to remove the hood. Yes it would make the job a bit easier, but the trouble to remove, reattach, and realign the hood would be a far bigger pain in the butt than leaving it in place when changing the pipes and IC. Honestly, the only way the hood interferes with what you are going to do comes when you're trying to disconnect the couplers that connect the pipes to the intercooler. It doesn't so much limit where you can put your tools as it does where you can put your head while using the tools. LOL
