Patience is a VIRTUE....

actually we just started with the project March 2011 of this year, unfortunately.

it is not just a simple engine build. It's a big project (compound build, engine build, drivetrain, secondary fuel system, etc).

I'm glad I already took over my wife's 2009 civic for my daily driver....and sold my beater car. We ended up buying her a 2011 CRV last Saturday. That 2000 Saturn SL2.....was really a POS.

I havent driven Lipstick since August 2010 since the synchros failed....and I have to leave her at SMG at that time.

Long process......and expensive..unfortunately.

HUGE Thanks to DAVE of WERKS for helping me out with a big-A SS intercooler that will be more than enough for my 700hp build.

WERKS is one of the vendors who has been supporting LIPSTICK for this build, and besides this werks race ic........ALSO there's one more product which will be the first among LNF kappas that Dave is building for me (will be done in less than 2 months and will be announced)

anyways, this is the:

The Werks RACE INTERCOOLER

biggest intercooler for kappas - 15"x3"x24"

1100hp capacity!!! 100% made in the USA!
Pressure tested up to 65psi!
3" inlet and outlet
Ultra efficient bar and plate style core

it is more than twice the volume of the stock ic

Question

Good lord man, when will this brute of a sky be finished..

Can this guy beat out our ole "Brutus""? OR for that matter any V8??

Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties. Abraham Lincoln

The Constitution is essentially an obsolete charter of negative liberties. Barack Obama

no offense to brutus/rpi.......but my old set-up (gt3582r) already beat brutus.

a heavily modified v8 (NA) will be a good match against lipstick.

the problem with the long build......the longer I wait, the more stuff I want to do and discover to do That's why it multiplies the waiting process even more....lol

slowly but surely......

I was going to make a dirty comment...

Nooo... better not...

Ugg!

I have to!

...

Too much foreplay CAN be a BAD THING!!!

-=-=-

Back on topic...

How much chopping will have to be done to fit that beast into place?

Same question goes for the rest of the build too... I see from yer pics of the shop's earlier work that there are massive amounts of tubing involved.

How much are you going to have to modify the engine bay? Are you going to end up needing a new hood with some more room beneath it?

no chopping needed to fit the big IC.....but the crash bar have to be removed. We'll probably end up customizing a new crash bar though.

no need to modify the hood.......but will have to relocate tons of parts to fit the two turbos and the bigger manifold.

it will be a totally new look for Lipstick after she's all done.

One of the changes will be the very aggressive look since the bumper will show the full view of BIG IC

I would like to thank DAVE of WERKS for supporting my 700hp compound turbo build, by fabricating the FIRST LNF Kappa RACE custom manifold!

Thank you WERKS!!!

This is what the manifold will look like (this is for the 2.4 Kappa):

The manifold has been designed for mid-range and top end power, large turbos will need a manifold like this. As you will see In the pictures the location of the throttle body is on the forward end of the manifold

Plenum volume is calculated at 300 cubic inches and the velocity stacked runner length is 2” diameter tubing x 5 1/8”

it can handle up to 60psi

if you guys have other questions (price, when it will be released, etc.), pls feel free to contact WERKS.

thanks!
