Walkthroughs for the amateur tuner.

Are there any good Redline specific links where one can find step by step instructions of how to tune your car with :

1. HP Tuners kit
2. Trifecta
3. GMPP
4. Others...

Preferrably with all the hardware and software needed and the cost involved.

Leaning towards the DDM power Pak with Trifecta, but havent decided yet.

Well, of those three only HP Tuners is the only one that you can tune your car. The other two are where other people do the tune and you're just uploading it to the car. Trifecta will adjust your tune if you make changes (for a fee) while GMPP is just one tune for a pretty much sock car otherwise.

HP Tuners allows you to tune the car yourself or you can have someone tune it for you using HP Tuners remotely. HP Tuners is so popular that having someone tune your car when you have HPTuners gives you a ton of options when it comes to choosing a Tuner. Trifecta you have to use Trifecta as your tuner only.

And the GMPP tune is basically outdated, used back when we didn't want to void warranty, but now superseded by better safe tunes.

If you just want to get a bit more out of your car, go with a 'canned' tune like Trifecta and then stop there. If you are likely to be tinkering with it and constantly trying to improve it, the HP Tuners (and an experienced tuner to help you) would be the way to go.

I've only had my 2008 Sky Redline for a couple of months but can attest to the Trifecta basic tune being a lot of bang for the bucks ($200). It's all the extra power I need and improves the drivability of the car. I'm not a wrench jockey but installed with my laptop in 20 minutes, no problems.
