I have heard nothing that would indicate that they would be exclusively kappas. Perhaps someone that is going can advise whether or not that is the case.

It is important that attendees be aware of what "driving" the racetrack in this situation means. Most questions I hear kind of indicate that the person asking the question is expecting something a bit faster than what The Glen is providing. I'm just trying to do my part to manage the expectations.

This is the quote I was remembering, thought it had something about exclusive groups, but clearly it did not.
Quote:
WGI: ....... For $30.00 you can do 3 laps behind a pace car (no helmet..no roll bar) at a lesser speed (maybe 55..
maybe 70) We would put the GXP's and Redlines up front...the N/A's behind then and the noobs at the back)
THERE IS NO DRIFTING OR AUTOCROSS...you want to do that, forget WGI
I think that it is pretty clear about what to expect. As I said, doing it is fun and unusual, but not terribly exciting. Think of it as a tourist activity.
Well, there is that hard left coming out of the boot and back onto the main track ... Armco straight ahead, and the car light from cresting the rise ....

It would just be cool for my wife to somewhat see what i like doing, even if not at speed. Its a 5hr drive (which isnt much to a chunk of the attendees) but i could do a lot worse with 30 bucks. I do track days on my bike so i dont need to go crazy out there, this is just a relaxing week for us and i wanted to know what to pack. I wont have a roll bar for another year or 2 so getting to speed on a track isnt in the cards yet anyway.

If it was a high speed racing day I wouldn't do it but as described it sounds like fun! Well fun other than the possibility of getting stuck behind a Suburban. Gonna sign up for this, as others have said, you cold do a lot worse things with $30.

Have you registered and paid? Since registration is now closed, if you haven't registered it may not matter, but there is a note on the website to email [email protected] to see if they can accommodate you.

Registration is normally required to participate in group evens like runs, tours, the car show, etc. and, of course, the banquet.
You will get a "swag bag" of registration materials, probably with some memorabilia, maps, instructions, etc.

As far as the registration fee is concerned, it pays for putting on the event.
* I registered too long ago to remember, but I think that about half of the fee ($35 +/-) is for the banquet, so the rest pays for everything else.
* The hotel charges for use of meeting and registration space.
* ID badges, signs, and informational material all cost money, as do some general supplies needed to make things happen.
* Anything left over is donated to the selected charities, so no one is putting anything in their pockets.

Showing up without registering basically means you are free-loading on the time, effort, and money that others have contributed, so I hope you have registered, or will.
