Mike, you have a great deal to give based on your knowledge of the Sky. You have personally helped me as a neighbor, with my Sky. The newbes have no idea who you are but could benefit from your positive helpful knowledge as you have personally shown to me. It might ruin your reputation a little but how would you like me to remember you?

Rule #6: Never say you're sorry.

I love the fact that the relative newbies, who've never helped anyone as much as MM has over the years, are pounding on him here. Give it up and go home.

Really? I find it very commendable and ironic that some of the so called "newbies" have done more to point out bad behavior and what can only be called a general lack of manners and/or class in defence of this forum and its members both "new" and "old" then many (not all) of the so called long timmers. As far as "going home", its a short trip.....HERE IS HOME!

Actually Mike, "defence" is not a wrong spelling. Most of the English speaking countries outside of the US spell it this way.

Troll?

From Don't feed the Troll - RationalWiki

Troll as defined by RationalWiki:
Although originally a non-offensive reference to fishing by trolling for input/feedback on ideas, the term in Internetspeak has evolved and now refers to an entity that involves itself in discussions purely for the purpose of provoking and/or disturbing other users and making itself feel important. Because trolls take away from productive work, the standard response is to starve the troll of attention by ignoring it and going about your usual business.

How to spot a troll:
Usually it is very difficult to tell the difference between a troll and somebody who is simply an ******* or an idiot. It is important to note that a troll doesn't always resort to insults..... If its posts are short then more than likely you are dealing with a troll. A good troll also doesn't show any signs of anger in their posts .....
Spotting a skilled troll can be quite difficult; one formulation of Poe's Law is that "Any sufficiently advanced troll is indistinguishable from a genuine kook."

Hah! I'm an ex-pat Brit, been in the US 30+ years, and I never realised (sic) that the Amurcan spelling was with an "S"! I know all the other ones like the z/s substitutions, but that one was new to me.

Well, you ARE never to old to learn, I guess!

Indeed. Mike likes to correct others spelling b/c he is insecure about his own.
Perhaps he thinks that it reflects his intelligence which he mistakenly associates with knowlege about Kappas. Hiding behind information WILL not and HAS not masked his inability to other wise be relevant.
This as others have stated has nothing to do with age but maturity.

Threads like this have nothing to do with our cars or love for them however, Mike thought this was somehow more relevant a disscussion then questions about oil or tires.

I do not mean this to be crule or mean just a reflection on another members behavior who has invited such criticism and allegedly welcomes it (easy to see this is not really the case, he will thank you for correcting him in one thread then be passive aggressive/overtly offensive in another).

I to like so many others have begun to feel a certain type of sympathy for him, its sad to watch a sinking ship.

He may have the nickname "curmudgeon" on the sol forum but to me he is MumblingMike.

Please take this feedback and that of so many others as a life jacket.

Sadly, based on my experiences - bullying is actually rampant on the Sol forum... But it is much more personalized instead of towards a generic group.

That is why I no longer go to "the other side"...
