The Midway Racing Team, SSB Solstice #1, and driver, Bob Demers, will be racing the last two SCCA Club Racing events of the NER motorsports season with a bid at the championship.

On September 10th & 11th. come to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the “ Cheap Date Regional.”

Then a few weeks later on September 30th. & October 1st. the race team will be at Lime Rock Park for the NARRC Runoff.

With numerous podium finishes this year, Bobby D has a fantastic shot at the championship. Sportscar Magazine has also written about the auto racing achievements of this past season too. Let’s turn out to be a part of this amazing experience and watch the racing action.

The race team has extended an invitation to come out to these events and to enjoy their hospitality along with cheering on the Solstice #1 to victory. There will be a Mequiars Car Care Demonstration of the NXT Tech Wax 2.0, which is used on the race car. A Kappa Car Show will be open for Solstice and Saturn Kappa’s. The Best in Show will win a Mequiars Car Care Kit. SCCA members are also encouraged to volunteer as race workers. The competition is expected to be intense. Check with the SCCA and the race tracks for more details, gate, event and local information.

Please reply to the Solstice Forum to express your interest and our support.

RSVP is appreciated so the appropriate hospitality arrangements and plans can be made with the Midway Racing Team. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Arrangements for several parade Laps have been discussed with Lime Rock staff for Saturday, Oct 1st. We do need a good show of cars and hope that you can make it. Visit Lime Rock Park for area information, ticketing and directions.

The race team and our car corral has be assigned a great location next to the false grid, see attached Lime Rock Track Map on the Solstice Forum.

We have a few cars confirmed and it will be at LRP descretion if track ride will be offered during the lunch break. The forecast for Saturday promises some real nice fall weather. Camping is allowed at Lime Rock so why not think about coming in on Friday. See Http://www.limerock.com for details.

Lets make this a good turn out for Bob. If you can not attend please express your appreciation on the Solstice Forum for the past few years at events like this at Lime Rock and at Laudon. The Midway Race Team and his dealership has really provided us some exciting events and the Bubba Burgers are the best.

Bob Demers Championship win at Lime Rock

With racing there are often many challenges to over come. That sure was the case this past weekend at Lime Rock. The Midway Race Team and Bob Demers at the wheel had some tough track conditions and the weather was very uncertain for his race of the season. Our favorite race team with a stand in crew chief, Jerry Griffin, had to make the last minute decision to take off the rain tires and to go with the slicks. It was a choice that helped them to make the difference in the SSB race at Lime Rock.

We could see a dry line on the track, said Jerry. The weather looks as if there is going to be a clearing during the race. So the tire change is a big risk. If we guess wrong the outcome in the race will be different.

Bob's qualifiy time on Friday put the SSB#1 up front of a very mixed group. As the green flag dropped the pack bunched up into turn 1, Big Bend. The cars came around and down the straight on the first lap to have the field openned up. This provided our team the opportunity to move up through the field. Each lap you could see the Solstice over take other cars and the track times for Bob were very good.

Towards the end of the race it appeared that lap traffic maybe a factor. With Jerry in the tower reporting the race. The checked fell with Bob Demers taking the championship for his stock class. What an incredible race.

Our best of luck to the race team and congratulations on a spectacular season and your win at Lime Rock. Many thanks for your hospitality and that of the Midway Race Team and family. Please keep us posted on the schedule for next year and we will be looking forward to cheering you on.
