Previous Owner?

Hello everyone!

I am hoping to purchase this particular saturn sky out here in Hawaii and it looks like it had a few mods done to it. I was wondering, do any of yall know who this belonged to and what they may have done to / with it?

Thank you for your help!

We would really need more information than that sleepercar. I know there aren't many on the islands but I am pretty sure there is more than one. Pictures or some descriptive info would help.

Welcome to the forum and good luck on purchasing your Sky...even if it isn't this one.

Thats the link to the car complete with vin.

And thank you for the welcome, I wasn't sure if I was going to do a hello world post since I don't actually have the car yet :/

I had a feeling there was something missing. LOL This helps...

So after looking at that ad, what a great looking car. And when he changed the color, he went all out. Note the underside of the hood and trunk both were done. Assuming door frames were done too. Really a nice job. I dig the color too! Personally I like the different-than-body-color window frame but that's just me. Nice looking Redline.

In addition to paint, I can tell he did rear eyelids on the stop lights, looks like he may have a custom exhaust that exits out where the reverse light used to be and put the light underneath it (hard to tell from the photos...), swapped out the stock white LED third brake light for a Solstice red one, they did eyebrows on the front headlights, blacked out the front turn signal/fog light fixtures, installed base model front lower vent assemblies with their plastic chrome bars. Never seen anyone do this to a Redline since those were functional brake ducts...they could have modified them to make those functional though...just really hard to see clearly what those ducts are in those pictures. Those COULD be Redline vents with the bars added too...not sure how feasible this is since I never tried it.

Also has an aftermarket head unit and I have no idea what that thing is in the visor. Radar detector? Engine bay looks stock (and filthy) but from that one picture I can't see if anything has been done with great certainty.

@davhamm, that's all I'm going to say.

For the record, folks are welcome here whether or not they own the car yet, still, or ever.

I am fairly certain that thing in the visor is a boost controller. Blitz Ultra?

Looks like a K/N filter or CAI on that...

But I figured someone who modded their car like this might have been on here somewhere

It is highly possible. No harm in asking and with a car that unique, if they were on here they'd recognize their car. May want to ask on Facebook too.

Never thought of that being a boost controller. Odd to have it way up under the visor, I'd think but then again, I've never ran one like that. When I go electronic for that I'm going with the AEM Truboost that goes in the gauge pod.

I have to give you a bit of background on the Davhamm reference. Davhamm was here looking for his Hydro Blue Sky for...what...three years before he bought it? It was a while. A certain member who I will not name use to give him grief for being here because he didn't own the car...even though Davhamm is a GM engineer who worked on the interior for the Solstice Coupe. LOL

The irony is that in the early days when the car was first released this forum's membership only had about 10% owners and 90% people waiting or looking to get their car.

So it's a bit of an inside joke with him when people bring that up. Like I said, for the record, the official stance is it doesn't matter if you don't have the car yet, still or ever, you're welcome here.

LOL...I don't know if it's a midlife crisis for me (Though it has been labeled that by some friends of mine) but I think it's just a part of me that's never grown up. I got my Grand Prix because I needed a family car. I then modified said family car to be faster than a Corvette or Viper. Why doesn't anyone call that a midlife crisis? LOL

Enjoy the car! They are fantastic! (My opinion, of course.) Looks like you got a unique one there. Pictures after you get it...

...and please, for the love of god, clean that engine bay! LOL

I didn't see any exhaust tips either. I also noticed the stock reverse light was missing and a replacement attached below the opening for it. This is what leads me to believe the exhaust has been modified to exit through the old reverse light position in the valance.

I see what you mean with the fender though. Yea, it looks out of alignment there by the door. Maybe a big problem (damaged fender) or could just be missing a couple screws. I'd definitely look into that one.
