Sky Mechanic in So Cal?

Hey team,

I'm in Temecula (robo and skersfan-adjacent), and am looking for a solid mechanic. I'd like to get the coolant and oil changed for now. I usually do my own work, but these both seem to be pretty unique on the Sky .

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I can recommend a great shop up in Banning, but pretty good drive from Temecula. I know Robo likes his local dealership. Robo maybe able to help you with it though.

I do my own oil...other than a special wrench to get the filter cap off (and getting the car up in the air) there isn't much of a trick to it.

Haven't done coolant yet.

I will say this, the Paradise GMC dealer is a Saturn authorized dealer and I have had very good luck with their service department dealing with my Sky. Other than pricing being a bit steep sometimes they know the car pretty well.

LOL. The cartridge oil filter freaks me out after I had a bad experience with a MINI cartridge filter and making a smoke screen on the 15 south

The coolant is 8 years old and needs changing regardless. According to a lot of threads on here, it sounds like it needs to get done right. My car is already running 202-205 with AC on @95 ambient.

Thanks guys. Let me know when you want to meet up.

Kind of waiting on Robo to get his car repaired, but I would like to come down to Temecula Tuesday this Tuesday. Have not had the car out much in the last month, and it has been great weather. Oh well will let you know Monday if I can make it.

Actually might want to wait until Friday. Big event on Cal Oaks. They're bringing out an RC Track so I have to bring out my other race cars. LOL

I wound up going to Jiffy Lube today to get an oil change...the one on Rancho Cal and Margarita does good work. And they had this on the wall...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I ended up going to Paradise GMC. Good service experience and their prices were not really that bad. I've seen worse

Knysna99...they really are good. I shopped around a clutch install and they actually were the cheapest! That said they were the most expensive around for a 4-wheel alignment. It just depends on what you're getting done.
