2007 Saturn Sky Project Car (Needs Work).
I bought this Saturn Sky a few years ago. It was in rough shape after being stolen and severely vandalized. Even with the damage, it has a normal, green Michigan title. Not an orange rebuilt/salvage title. I intended to do the bodywork and then replace the motor or install a turbo. That never happened. Now Iím away at college again and probably wonít be back in town for a year or two so I wonít be able to work on it at all. Help me give my parentsí garage back to them. I told my father to take the first $2,500 cash offer.
The car is still in rough shape. It looks good driving down the street. You can see that in the pictures. It's a cool little car. It was fun to drive at the dream cruise this year but that ended poorly. The transmission is now slipping and missing shifts. The good news is that it shares the transmission with many GM cars so a trip to the junkyard will be required. I recommend US Auto Supply of Sterling Heights (and Wayne now, too). They sell them for $100.
I did a lot of bodywork on the car but it was a learning experience (it shows). I put epoxy primer on the whole car and topped it with removable PlastiDip rubber paint. It should peel off easily for any additional bodywork you may want to do to it. I installed two brand new doors and window tracks/motors. The window glass is not installed yet and the interior door panels need to be installed. The interior is in decent shape. The convertible top has some wear but isnít ripped.
This car only has 70,000 miles on it and rides smoothly down the road but with the motor and trans not working properly, it probably shouldnít be driven more than twenty miles. If you need to take it farther I would plan to tow it.
If you want a unique project car contact me with any questions. It will definitely make a fun restoration or project. I just wish I had time to do it.
Please send emails with any questions or to arrange a time when you would like to see it.
