Tim I know you've decided to keep the car. If that truly makes you happy then go for it.

The car isn't what made the special memories. It was the time spent with your wife! If it hurts to drive then you won't end up enjoying the car and you won't drive it. I doubt that was what your wife wanted for you.

Standard or automatic a Sky is a Sky. I realize it won't be the car that she sat in with you, but, it won't hurt you to drive it.

I hope all is well with you

Obtion B or C

Since plan A to sell the car is out, seems plan B or C. Replace the clutch with an automatic or get the knee replaced kind of funny really either replace a clutch or a knee

Well I checked on the price of getting a automatic put in... WAY too much money.
I don't want to go through knee surgery...I cannot afford to take off from work that long right now... Sooooo... I went by the Saturn dealership.... jokingly I asked them how much they would give me for my car... 20500miles on it... well If I had sold it outright I would not have gotten as much for it... I don't want to tell how much I got, but believe me it was more than I thought it should bring and alot more than someone else on here said they were offered for one that just had 1900 miles on it. so after I had the check in hand I went back and ordered me a new Chili pepper red Automatic.... Bye-Bye NiteSky... Hello NiteSkyII.. (You Know the saying "Red Sky at night..".) should be here in 6 to 8 weeks.
I guess I will be seeing NiteSky driving around town someday. but I really cannot see them selling it for more than they gave me...

Great

Thats great news, Glad to here things panned out in such a way as to allow you to continue to enjoy a Sky.

I have a question? Does the Sky have a overly stiff clutch or is it about the same as most other std Transmission cars?

Well the sky was my first manual since i had a 81 Chevette... so I don't know about that. I do know that the constant pressing the clutch in and out in traffic or in the mountians is what got to me...

Congrats

Well sounds like you made the right decision for YOU! I sold my late husbands 73 TransAm that was his dream in the mist of restoration 6-months after he was gone, put the money in my 64 Sunbeam Alpine and it was the best decision I ever made for Myself. Keep the memories and the small sentimental things, pictures and movies but the big thinks cannot always be with you furniture/cars/houses/etc.

Someone more qualified than me can probably answer this better, but I wouldn't say it was overly stiff, especially compared to the Corvette or the Viper. It feels a littler stiffer than a 'normal' (nonsports) clutch, but not excessively so. However, I'll bet that the repetitious nature of driving stick would worsen a knee problem, almost regardless of clutch stiffness.

SkyMan 07, I'm glad you're able to stay in the Sky family.
Hopefully the wait won't be too bad the second time around!

well the first time including waiting just to put down a deposit was about a year and 2 months, after I put down a deposit it was like 9 months...
I was told 2 to 3 months this time...

So compared to that, 2-3 months will (almost) be a walk in the park!
And you get the new-car smell in full force again.

Are you using model paint for that? I was tempted to buy one and paint it yellow, but I didn't know what paint to use.

I used testors Model car paint, but it reacted with the paint already on the car and after 24 hours it is still sticky...

Here are a couple pictures I just took sitting on my Sky Wheel End Table In my Den.

Just a thought maybe the original paint is lead paint from china?
At least your not a small child and will not be eating the paint chips or putting the Sky in your mouth OMG!
Car looks good I hope the paint dries and does not stay sticky
