Dave, I've heard from other owners the rumor that the first 50 were supposed to have been destroyed. Does your memory recall anything like that? Curious if there might be anything to that.

At least as far as the 30 2010 Kappas were concerned, all 30 have been identified out in the wild from service records, for sale listings, or otherwise via VIN# searches. The 2 Opel GTs were thought to have been crushed, but both have shown up in Europe from service records.

If you are referring to the first group of pre-production Solstices back in mid-year 2005, I have no doubt that a bunch of them were destroyed. But it might be fun to see if any of the really early VINs have any history in the GM system. All I'd need would be access to a GM Service department computer for a couple of days, which isn't going to happen.

OK, let's get this sale thread back on topic and get KSky2010 a good reasonable offer on AY100012.

This is a RARE Sky, you won't see another 2010 on the market every day.

Time for a serious offer.

You may want to also consider advertising this on Hemmings. Hemmings has been around forever, and has always attracted collectors, restorers, and the average gear head. It's the perfect place to let the stats do the talking of your car.

Here is this month's current offerings: 2009 Saturn Sky Saturn Sky for sale #1817647 | Hemmings Motor News. Your 2010 would fit right in here.

I'd also suggest some of the bigger auction houses (but I understand it can be a hassle) since they also are a good venue for exposure and rare models. Ebay would be another option, but more for the exposure (again let the stats do the talking) than for a sale. Regardless, good luck and I hope it goes to a good home.

Did you sell the Sky! I purchased the Black Automatic from same dealer! They actually messed up and loaded the manua shift one on the truck and it was on the way to me in Florida and then they figured out they'd loaded the wrong one, needles to say I got the one I ordered! mine the vin# was 1g8mc3cb5ay100003! I've tracked it to Florida, would like to buy it back but still haven't found the owner yet!!

Interesting game. How do I find that information for my car? Previous owners played with it a bit and it was originally sold in the US (Iowa) and bought by an Ontario dealer and imported into Canada.

Porsche Karmin Red, Magna-flow Quad tip exhaust, RPM CAI, DDM Backbone, Windristrictor

Take your VIN into a GM dealership service department, and ask them for a GMVIS report. If they are nice guys, they'll run a printout for you. It takes about 30 seconds.

Good luck.

If I recall correctly, it was the Minneapolis Saturn group of dealerships, which were all owned by the same ownership group. They picked up all 8 when they came off the short-term GM executive leases, then went to the dealer auction.

Dave, you should have put in parenthesis behind your words "If I recall correctly," that often used acronym (IIRC) for benefit of those who haven't quite figured that one out yet. Since knowing, I think your full use IS the first translation I've seen spelled-out of that phrase.

I can't tell you how long it took me to figure that one out! (I've been close to requesting the forum to make a sticky topic translating all the acronym's used on the forum, LOL ) At first I thought that was referencing some International Racing Club, .

I don't use those "shortcuts" most of the time, usually because I don't recognize them myself. When others use them, I frequently have to look them up. I type relatively quickly, so I don't need to use them to quicken up my replies.

YMMV
