Someone here surely has a 3D printer, and could figure out how to make and sell small parts like this...

One of my goals for the coming school year is to learn how to apply some 3D printing to parts that I want in/on my Sky.

This Sky's not perfect, but it's perfect...for me

I have a 3d printer, but I wouldn't even bother to do a design for this when you can pick them up at generic auto parts stores so cheaply.

Which printer do you have? I just received my Airwolf3D dual direct drive printer. I want to be able to make small parts like the moving parts for the cup holder, the fender rubber bumpers, etc. I have a small scanner that will hopefully support building printable models of same. I was amazed to learn that you can actually print in material that acts like rubber once its printed.

I built mine from a kit - a Folger Tech Kossel 2020 - but most of the things I've designed/printed have been parts to modify the printer itself (new bed mount, PSU mounts, magnetic arms, new print head mount design, reel mount, etc)

Very nice!

I chose mine because I want to be able to print complex parts in nylon for longevity. Time will tell.

ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER!

I searched for the problem, and found the answer in this thread that started 7.5 years ago - easy fix.

THANKS!

We are now printing the clip that mounts to the flap hinge point where the alignment pin and spring mount. Chickenwire built the file and is printing them in metal. I have printed them in nylon. We are trying to convince CW to build a model for the flaps so I can print them in ABS as replacement parts. Currently new flaps are close to $200 from online sources.

Installation Tip

This post was very helpful for me...found similar assortment of "door lock rod clips" at Advance Auto (75450). There were two in the pack that worked for me (both sides were in need of replacement). One tip: I couldn't get the clip to fit in the holder hole with the cable already inserted into the clip. I put the clip in the hole first and then found that the cable was able to go in after that.
