I have an opposite side to tell. I had the recall done one year ago tomorrow. The repair failed about 3 months ago. I was not able to get the car to the dealership until today. GM has agreed to replace the whole system. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow morning and be installed. The tech that did it a year ago, said I was right, that it would fail. The only person to set in the seat was Robotech. And maybe a total of 100 miles. I am happy they are replacing the whole system, and the fact that I will have another year of warranty on the work done and part replaced. I was amazed they actually had the parts in LA.
Thanks to Robo, JohnWR and all the others that got this recall thru. But if you only got the tape version of the repair, I would watch it very carefully and test it often if you don't have passengers riding in the seat very often.
