I think you have to prove that your aftermarket device is not at fault. They engineered these car to their standards, who are we to add extra or change devices to disrupt the motor from their protected system and expect to be covered. (Their way of thinking I'm sure)...
And,
Some still have Extended Warranties, even with cars older then yours....

And looking in your engine bay, you think the CAI is going to keep you out of the same situation?

Anyone who is worried about this should stay bone stock. If not, this is a very nice upgrade

First off let me say that I really like DDM products and the people that run the operation, no one could ask for better customer service. CAI by anyone brings questions from me.

I have used these in the past, never on a Kappa, but on two Ford 150's, the K&N system and AFE on the FJ Cruiser, and saw absolutely no gain in anything but noise,

On the FJ it truly brought cool air into the engine compartment as it used the original fender inlet that the OEM air box did, I doubt that this design or any that I have seen for the Kappa line does that. It is not enclosed, no tube to bring cool air and sets very close to the radiator and intercooler. Not being enclosed allows water into it in rain (not a worry for me) and a lot more dust access to the filter.

All I have ever seen from them is an increase in noise, no performance gains, actually a drop in performance in mileage on the FJ. I have one setting in the garage, that when I took it off and went back to stock for smog test, my mileage increased and so it seemed the power.

I just need more evidence that it actually does do something other than make noise.

To answer your question if I still had my warranty:
Answer: Yes, because I have the proof that its the real thing. Intake was installed by GM and its on record..

And here's the label to prove it!

Dear god I want that white setup but don't want to pay the extra $80 and however much extra on the intake to get it.

The white powdercoat option is a $35 option on the site, unless I am reading it wrong

I looked at that after I posted. It is on the Intake, but the intercooler piping says $80.

It's so pretty though.

I'm working on ordering an Intercooler and Piping.
HAHN seems to be the only ones with a BOV set up that I could find.

I've looked at your Piping and Synapse but there's no option for a BOV flange other than coming WITH the BOV and I don't want to have to get it welded and cut right after I get it and ruin the powder coat.

We can weld on the BOV flange for you and then have them sent out for powdercoat, we do it all the time. Shoot me a PM, shoot an email or give a call and we can get you taken care of with the BOV and the intake. If you are doing the intake and the charge tubes white at the same time I can check to see if we can do better on the powdercoat. The powdercoater though does not shoot white often and you have to clean everything really well when doing white, otherwise it gets little speckles in it, so it takes them awhile to get everything cleaned up just to switch to white.

Hope that helps,
Dave

My powder coater would rather shoot me than white!!!! I did it on the kitchen framing of my off road trailers. He absolutely drug it out to the last second, then bitched about it the whole time!! But it sure looks good!

Haha, my Uncle is a professional painter and body repair guy at a shop. I asked him last night how bad white was and he proceeded to gripe for about 20 minutes on how much of a pain in the ass it is to clean everything to prepare to spray white.
