Its what I paid for my first set of RE-71Rs. They've gone down since then but still about $1K after tax, shipping, mounting, etc.

I purchased the Raptors last spring and drove my sky all summer and fall and very happy with them.
They are quiet and bite on dry pavement. I do not drive my car in the winter.
Manufacturer states not to drive them in winter.

Alpine speakers and amp.
Eibach swaybars, Probeam
Backbone, Magna-Flo system
Hi-flo Cat.,Powder coated valve cover,
Hahns Stage II, 53mm Precision Turbo,

Most extreme summer tires are like that. RE-71Rs are the same way. However, I believe it's for certain temps. Even in winter we rarely get down into the 40s unless it's late at night. Usually in the 50s to 60s. Hell, yesterday it was 100 here. The RE-71Rs do not perform well in the 50s. They like hotter weather. I'm sure the Raptors are the same way.
