Well, not quite. The polished wheels were only available on the Redlines.

For the base, the painted was standard, and the chrome was an optional upgrade.

So, you could not get the polished wheels on a base, and you could not get the painted wheels on a redline (at least not from the factory).

Of course, that didn't prevent people swapping them around afterwards.

Hard to believe, but I learned something new today. I never knew you couldn't get polished wheels on the base model. In the Solstice realm, both the polished and chrome wheel were optional on the base model.

Shucks!

That's okay, I never knew that there was a painted version of the Solstice wheels. Pretty certain I've never seen them. On the other hand, I don't know the Solstice all that well - I just never cared for its styling (which is a shame because I was always more of a Pontiac guy).

I ordered my 1st 1000 with the painted wheels, then picked up a set of polished wheels from PAW that were taken off of a GXP with less than 600 miles on them. The painted ones are sitting in a corner of the garage with the original Goodyear RSAs still mounted.

I wish I could remember a former owners name...but he had polished rims. Whatever he did to them, I swear they looked like chrome.
