I have some original F1s on my car now and they suck in the cold or rain. If I floor it in 2nd gear in a straight line the rear tries to pass the front.

Just replaced Originals on our '07at 43,250 miles. Never a tire problem. Dry climate only here, no wet driving. Put on Pirelli 255/45R's; lots quieter and somewhat smoother.

Will the 255's be OK and not rub anywhere on turns, etc.?

I have a 2009 Sky brochure that says:

For the redline:
Goodyear F1 GS2 P245/45/R18 W-rated performance tires

For the base:
Goodyear Eagle RS-A P245/45/R18 V-rated performance all-season tires

They work just fine although the speed-0-meter will be a little bit off.

Folks have gone as wide as 275s without rubbing on 18" and 19" wheels. (obviously on a wider wheel than the stock 8" wide wheels)

My tires had 7 years and 3 months of age and the odometer said almost 26K, but looked OK.

Then I saw the air pump and tube of glue in the trunk. A short analysis of what the air pump and glue was for and tried to imagine that getting me back to civilization from somewhere on a Western US highway. That picture was quite blurred and frankly unimaginable. The next morning I went to Discount Tire and bought everyone's favorite Michelin PSS all around.

I'm betting on good tires.

Not sure what you mean by a Stagger Set up. Are you looking at getting a second set of wheels and want to stagger the widths or are you wanting to get a taller tire in the rear and stagger the height?
