Never know It's going to be hard to scrap the Sky without scraping the Solstice and Opel GT. They're all built on the same line. The loss of one may doom the others.

The Sky, or its equivalent in Europe (Opel GT), Korea (Daewoo), India (Chevy something) are all selling well. Since a lot of its parts come from other GM products, I am not too concerned with the service issue, but I would like to see the car itself live on under a luxury brand. I think the Sky is a much better looking car than the Solstice, but it is also different. Its ride characteristics and upscale interior place it in Buick or Cadillac lines. GM with just Chevy and Caddy would be much more competitive. GMC only makes trucks and the same trucks as Chevy! And Buick, is a step between Chevy and Caddy. So instead, sell some mid price Caddys. Chevrolet can have a performance division; Vette, Camaro, Kappa, and family vehicles + trucks. Caddy can be luxury, entry and high end. Time to simplify.

The Opel GT in my garage was purchased new off the Buick lot in 1970. It would be an awesome move to put the Sky's over on Buick. The demographics for Buick customers and Sky customers probably overlap considerably.

A year or so ago, there was an artist concept of a "Corvette Stingray" . I was based on the Sky with modified nose and tail lights. Any chance?

But how about this Buick: 112 0405 First Velite03 Z Photo It kind of has a Kappa feel to it, maybe it is those clam shell hood and deck lids?

Of course I am biased, because I have always been a little partial to Buick, as my user name suggests. And who knows, maybe with Pontiac gone, Buick will start producing some interesting things again. After all, the GS 455 still holds as one of the highest producing torque engines of all time. And the GNX turbo still holds as one of the fastest 0-60 cars of all time.

Ditto! I have owned many Buicks over the years and yes it's not your Grandpa's Buick!
I think you could see the Sky come back under the Buick name plate? Remember the concept Bengal a few years back this was pretty much the same car. There is still the Opel GT overseas slap a Buick logo on it and your done. I like the sound of that "Buick Sky"

Buick is bringing back the Regal and probably a GS model? This car is from the Vauxhall lineup. It makes sense for GM to rebadge the cars and bring them here that saves them a lot of money.

Confirmed: Buick Regal coming to America in late 2010

Check out the new LaCrosse very nice!

I owned a Pontiac 455 HO, also on 500 ft-lbs., but that was gross. Not sure what they put out net.

The GNX was a pretty interesting car, using turbo technology to create a fairly decent performer in the middle of a pretty bleak period. It certainly doesn't have 0 - 60 times near any number of more modern cars, though. You must be quoting a contemporary article. In 1987 it was pretty darned fast. Today, a stock GXP with GMPP tune can pretty much equal it. ( GNX - 0-60 ~ 5.4 - 5.6, 1/4 in 13.8)
