Mod day went well and may add a new Sky owner to the fold in my friend Tommy. We'll see. He's already shopping around.
Only thing I didn't get done is fuel pump. Couldn't get the stubborn lock ring off. Will be ordering the proper tool for it and trying again soon. Turned down the boost and started tuning the car for the 3" cold side charge pipe. Was lean and needed 30% more fuel to get it near where it needed to be.

Okay guys, tomorrow is the start of Mod Day (weekend...whatever).
The schedule is looking something like this:
9:00 am - Start on Fuel Pump and Fuel Rail on my car. Fuel rail instructions I have printed out so the fuel pump directions (which are here on the forum) will be up on the big screen. I'm assuming this will take 2-3 hours just because I don't know how much of a pain the pump will be. Fuel rail should be a 30 - 45 minute job at most.
Noon - Swap out my car for jgasser's car. By noon his car SHOULD be more than cool enough to work on. We'll be jacking up his car and, though I haven't talked to him about this yet, plan on getting some before pictures to post to the forum of what it looks like jacking the car up without braces. We'll put on all three braces then take some pictures as we lower the car to show the difference. We'll be dropping the rear of the exhaust (four hangers) for a bit more clearance in removing the backbone and doing the Probeam. This should also take a maximum of 2-3 hours. the Probeam is the time consumer since you put it on, make marks, take it off, drill, put it back on. Backbone and Venom brace are 30 minutes max for both.
3:00 pm - Assuming everything has gone to plan and Mr. Murphy of Murphy's Law fame can be distracted with donuts, we'll roll jgasser's completed car out of the garage and roll mine back in. I plan on working on it until around 6:00pm but I don't know how much we'll get done. This is, however, my plan. We'll start with swapping out the cat and fixing my exhaust. I had an exhaust bracket snap on me yesterday so I can fix that while we're doing the cat. Again, if none of the bolts give me a fit, we should have that done in a half hour or so. Next, we'll move on to the springs. This will take some time since we need to measure the shocks as we go to get the proper suspension settings. We will be disassembling the shock/spring assembly about as far as you can take it apart to swap out springs. Never done this before so should be interesting. This could take a couple hours easily. Depending on where we are at when that's done, we may call it a day.
(or after the springs are done on Saturday if we feel like continuing)
9:00am - We'll start Sunday by removing the charge pipes and start work on the coolant lines. We'll remove the upper coolant hose going from the head to the radiator and this is going to make a big mess (hence why we wait to do this last). Once the upper hose is out, we'll remove the broken radiator fan and replace it with the new one. We'll reinstall a new upper radiator hose and then we will work on rerouting the turbo's coolant return line. I have a new way I want to do it and I pray it works. We'll see. We'll bleed the system and once that's done, install the new charge pipes. I assume this should take only a couple hours at most but you know how that may turn out.
11:00am - Since we already made a mess, it will be around this time when we'll re-bleed the front left caliper as I think it still has a bit of air in it.
11:30am - With all the upgrades done, we'll drop the car down and check the front ride height against the rear. To do this, I'll take the car for a little spin and let the suspension settle then come back and check it. I want the front to sit about 1/4" higher than the rear. Last time the springs settled about 1/4-1/2" after I drove around on them for a month so I want to take this into consideration with the new springs. In a month I'll check it again and see where they are at.
IF the ride height is right, we're done. If it's not, we have to jack it back up, take the tires off, and adjust the suspension again to get it where we want it. Good news is changing it is easy...getting the car up, the tires off, and then reversing that is the time consumer.
Once this is done, if anyone else has something on their car they want to work on...oil change, brakes, whatever...we can work on it here but so far no one else has said they're coming out wanting to work on their car. As of right now, this is who I have coming out:
I also have a friend coming out for both days to hang out. Great guy and a hell of a builder. If any of you have seen pictures of the Harley Quad I use to have, this is the guy who built it. Made the frame, made the forms to make the carbon fiber body panels, etc. It will be nice working with him again. He's currently building a sports car...not a kit...just a one off for fun. He's a bit nuts like that.
Once we're done with the Kappas, I have to get my GFs Veloster in the garage to do some work and if anyone wants to stick around for that, I could use the extra hands. I have to chase down a vibration in the front of the car, figure out a better way to secure her exhaust in the back so it doesn't rattle against he body, and figure out if there is a leak in the exhaust up front as she's getting exhaust fumes in the car when she has the recirculation button off on the HVAC.
So that's what the weekend looks like except for any unexpected Auto Parts Store or Hospital visits. I'll have drinks but we will probably just all figure out what we want for lunch/dinner and everyone can just pool our funds for that. On Saturday AND/OR Sunday, we may wind down at the local pub if anyone is interested. That's always an option. We have showers and stuff if you guys need to use them. (just please, clean up the grease in the shower afterwards. LOL)

|skersfan||What kind of upload do you think you need? I have several towers that see your GF's house, should be able to get something there temporary if needed. Let me know.|

Good question. Should figure that out huh?
I say at 9 on both days but, as always, folks can arrive whenever.

Okay folks. This is coming up in less than two weeks. I don't think anything else has been added to the agenda.
On jgasser's car we're doing Probeam, Venom Brace and Backbone.
On my car...there's a longer list:
Upper radiator hose
Rerouting turbo coolant return line (still need a couple parts for this)
Radiator Fan (should be here by Friday)
Hot and Cold pipes (replacing and updating...my new ones are finally here and done!)
High flow cat
5K springs on front BC Coil Overs
Bleed Left Front Brake Caliper
I want to get jgasser's car done first but since he's driving in (and we need to drop the rear of his exhaust for the Pro Beam and Back Bone) we may need to let his car sit a bit and cool off. So I'm thinking we may do the fuel rail and fuel pump on my car first since it won't need to be jacked up for these) then, once that's done, move jgasser's car into the garage and get it done. Then move my car back in, jack it up, and tackle the rest. That's the plan. I'll have drinks but we will probably take a collection for pizza...damn AC repair killed my budget.
I have the garage set up for a live feed of the mod day(s) on the Internet but last time I checked the video stream connection it was...well...it sucked. Really laggy, super slow, and the connection to the internet was intermittent. Even regular browsing gets interrupted with the network dropping off and picking back up. I don't know what's going on with it but I have too much going on at the moment to look at it.
We will have instructions and guides up on the flat screen TV/monitor I installed in the garage for this mod day (and any other build days). Can also use it for movies and music so will have a bit of entertainment going on while we work.
Look forward to this mod day. Hopefully get these two cars sorted out for Autocross even though jgasser won't be doing that until October.

The second issue with jacking up a car is...
...the association won't appreciate us doing that in a fire lane. Really don't need that kind of attention drawn upon us. So the pads would be perfect...if there was the proper room.
That weekend will be perfect. Autocross is the weekend before.

|skersfan||Actually not true. I gave Myrna two dates, she chose this one and never even told me so. I just found out by going to the website. Sorry man! I will get you a shirt for it though. I am having the ones from last year made, as they failed miserably on that. So some will get two shirts at this event. Working on sponsors. Most likely be DDM. Solo Performance and Windrestrictor.|
