Gave UTube a shot. (not familiar, and not done before)

Went for a sign-on, answered the questions per no interest in their gambling or whatever it was they were trying to draw me into. Didn't like my answers, so will have to think about that one. Video isn't all that good anyway as my talent with a smartphone doesn't meet the detail of that word, LOL.

skersfan Thanks all.

The lay out is 16X18 foot with two levels. The trains are N scale.

I highly recommend the hobby, but don't get into too perfect, a rivot counter some people call them. Just have fun with it and see what you can accomplish

I bought the train for my grandson, who had absolutely no interest in it. Opened the box looked at it and never touched it again. So I told him I would take it home and build a town and a mountain around it. He laughed, then about two months later I had him up to the house. He was amazed, he comes up about every two weeks now. Helps me paint things and runs the trains.

But it is far far far from done. I am expecting another two years of work on it to get it be showable. Meaning letting other modelers look at it. I have learned a whole lot of stuff doing this. You do everything but plumbing, and I am talking about putting in a running creek bed, so some plumbing comes in to it I guess. The best part of it, or worst part is crawling under the board and doing the wiring. It keeps you more mobile for sure.

Very nice. Those that don't like them don't have to look.

wspohn Hmm - if you had a really large room available, you could get them to do a scale track of the Nurburgring, with a raised seating area for the 'racers' to sit, with ample single malt supplies and we'd never have to actually drive a real car again!

Robotech Damn you have done a lot to it since even the last time I saw it which wasn't all that long ago. The pictures he has here don't even do it justice. It has synthesized thunder and lightning...the control board is a small server room...the trains are just beautiful and he has more than I can count. Total surface of this set is larger than the Sky's footprint. It is impressive as hell...

...which is why I would love to see what he could do with a slot car track. Mind you, he has painted and decorated ALL that train layout himself!!! It truly is a work of art. Even the local train guys can't believe this is his FIRST attempt at a train layout. LOL

44thSKY I've got a 10 min video of that train set of skerfan's, but I don't think it will post here. I will give it a try later this AM.

skersfan The end of my train pictures. For those that don't like them I am sorry.

skersfan I had one similar to that 40 years ago. And had trains running thru it. The fence that NASCAR adopted, I had on my track many years before. Made out of motorcycle spokes and screen from a screen door. The kid was a world class moto crosser from age six until he quit at 19. His friends kept running the cars off the track and flipping them on to the driveway. I made the fence to catch the airborne little suckers. Low and Behold NASCAR makes the exact same thing and someone makes millions on it. lol

I have been asked to post pictures of my train set, and never have, but I will post a few in the post. Here are a couple from yesterday. Will dig up some others of the mountain areas and then call it quits. I don't even post pictures of my car. lol

Sorry these little suckers are my love, just way too much fun, seldom even see the car anymore. Will get it running this winter and put it away for my grandson. That is my plan at this point.
