Edit: There are times I miss the sound of that 800 CFM Quadrajet matched to the monstrous 455 exhaust just scaring the hell out of some ricer. There just isn't anything else that sounds quit like it.

Exactly why I mentioned the Fiero - it isn't stock, so whatever performance it may have is as relevant as the numbers you quoted for the non-stock car your friend has.

And I said "a stock GXP with GMPP tune", which is indeed stock in that you can buy a new Solstice with that tune and it is fully warrantable. I agree that any other 'tune' makes it a modified car and into the area where I sense we may agree, comparisons aren't all that meaningful.

They stuff anything they can get their hands on into Fieros, up to and including LS1s. I prefer at least a bit more stockish - I run a 3.2 turbo. I did stuff a 3.4 into an old MG, though, so I guess I'm a swapper too

A GXP with a tune is not stock in my book. And if your Fiero runs those times it's not stock either not even close.

They did put the GN 3.8 in the 89 Trans Am and it picked up several 10ths over the GN. It still weighs about the same but better aerodynamics.

I have seen several Fiero's with the Buick SC 3800 transplant, I have even seen one with a Northstar V8 that was pretty cool.

I think you have to compare stock with stock. There is always someone out there with a new trick for more power, it just depends on how long you want it to last and how much power you want.

I've got a Fiero that will do similar times to the GNX...but so what?

I always wished that they had put the nice GNX engine into a more attractive lighter vehicle. Like a Fiero that weighed 600 lbs. less than the sedan they stuck it in!

A GN stock was 13.8-14.0. A GNX was 13.20's stock on street tires. My friend has a GNX with 20,000 miles on the clock. Nothing but a chip change on street tires and went 12.80 @108mph. This about 14lbs of boost.

A GXP with a tune may be able to do this?? But please don't compare a GXP with the legendary GNX.

I think you could see the Sky come back under the Buick name plate? Remember the concept Bengal a few years back this was pretty much the same car. There is still the Opel GT overseas slap a Buick logo on it and your done. I like the sound of that "Buick Sky"

Buick is bringing back the Regal and probably a GS model? This car is from the Vauxhall lineup. It makes sense for GM to rebadge the cars and bring them here that saves them a lot of money.

Confirmed: Buick Regal coming to America in late 2010
